Thousands of people have gathered in Trafalgar Square in London to urge the Government to take dramatic action to combat climate change.
Organisers put the number of people at today's event at about 14,000
The rally's organisers, the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, want Britain to take the lead at the UN global warming conference which begins in Nairobi next week.
They are urging the Government to negotiate an international deal to make sure that global temperatures do not rise more than two degrees centigrade from their current levels, and to introduce a Climate Change Bill that demands annual reductions in UK carbon dioxide emissions.
They also want to see Britain help developing countries adapt to climate change.
Zac Goldsmith, editor of The Ecologist magazine and an environmental adviser to David Cameron, was among those who took part in the "I Count" march from Grosvenor Square to Trafalgar Square.
He was joined by members of the rock band Razorlight, comedians Jo Brand and Alistair McGowan, and TV naturalist David Attenborough.
Ashok Sinha, director of the coalition, warned that a failure to act now would be "catastrophic".

After ~35 years of radical Environmentalism, we now have the cleanest air and water in recorded history.
So, why are we now facing "chaos" and "catastrophe"?
There can be only one conclusion: Environmentalism is killing the planet!

...to urge the Government to take dramatic action to combat climate change. (Lightning bolt) It's not nice to protest against Mother Nature.
The Neaderthals tried this and it didn't work out for them either.

Rove will need to upgrade the machine just to keep the British spending more money.

Maybe their hot air will do take us out of the three weeks of
dialy highs and lows at about 15 degrees F BELOW averages we've
had in mid-Missouri.
And the hard frost down to 25 deg F.
But it's too late for the flowers now I'm afraid.

Yes, the government of Britain needs to "make sure" global temps do not rise. What the hell will they do, make sure nobody turns the thermostat up?
Another collection of moonbats.

I've been dreaming of a white Christmas.

All that I really wanted was a freakin' pony.
It used to be that people petitioned the government to fulfill a necessity, such as security, food, or shelter. Now the British are demanding that the Crown watch a dang thermometer, because someone might complain. Amazing.

Note to DU lurkers:
A highly placed source has informed us that, with Democrat control of the House and Senate now in the bag, trucks from the Government will begin delivering the Free Stuff it owes you early Tuesday morning. You must be at home to get your Free Stuff. Because of the large number of deliveries and the small number of drivers, it will probably be a long time before they can deliver to your neighborhood again. Don't leave home Tuesday until you get your Free Government Stuff! Don't listen to the neighbors if they dis' you about this . . . they probably think you're stoopid and plan to rip you off.
