President Bush, buoyed by news that U.S. unemployment was at a five-year low, put the focus in the Battle for Congress squarely on the economy Friday, hammering away at Democrats in particular, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who he warned can't wait to do away with tax cuts.

It's interesting that W is out there stumping for candidates, and I don't believe it's much to do with polls, it's just the way he is. On the other hand the Dem leadership is conspicuous by their absence, I guess they don't want to remind the undecided just who will have the reins if they do get a majority !

You're right, the dems are notably absent. John Kerry's remarks need to be addressed, and no one wants to answer for them. Or they're afraid they'll make their own Kerry gaffe.

I think this is all giving the GOP a slight but noticeable momentum going into this critical weekend. We might just have a better night Tues. than the polls indicate.
