Muslim’s association ‘surprised’ at absence of land
The Muslim’s Association of Iceland has sent out a press release in which it expresses its surprise at not having been awarded land to build a mosque in ReykjavÃk, while the ReykjavÃk District Council has signed a declaration of intent to award the Russian Orthodox Church and the Pagan Society of Iceland land to build places of worship. This is reported in the main online media.
The Muslim’s Association first applied for land to build a mosque seven years ago, but has received no definitive answer from the city. While the Association would like to congratulate the other two denominations, it also wishes to reiterate the necessity of being awarded a place for a mosque and for religious denominations in the city not to be discriminated against, according to the press release.

I think ReykjavÃk should make a counter-proposal to the Muslims to make Mecca their "sister city", and award them a place to build a mosque in return for a nice new Russian orthodox cathedral right next to that black box those heathens worship.

I'd rather have the Euros worship thor than nothing, at least Thor teaches warrior valor and machismo. Teaching you to fight back enemies rather than surrendering. Thor would not tolerate a weakling or a evil mozzie.

I understand there will be a lot of land becoming available in Greenland now and in the future. Maybe that'll be a nice place for them to build their mosque.
