The woman who would be speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has oddly stayed out of the national spotlight in the week leading up to the big vote.

The high profile, potentially history-making democrat has turned dramatically low-key.

The last photo of vanishing Pelosi on the wires was from an October 21 fundraiser.

And since Pelosi appeared on the October 22 broadcast of 60 MINUTES, national TV hits have been nonexistent.

A source close to the congresswoman explains she has been busy behind the scenes.

Pelosi made a brief appearance with Bill Clinton this week in San Fransisco.

We need a reporter/radio personalty to find her leaving her office etc and ask if she is being hidden by the Democratic party because they know middle America does not agree with her extreme left wing politics and would not be comfortable voting or Democrats if it means she is third in line for the presidency. Wonder what she'd say?????

My theory has been that she won the coveted 2005 Congress Spackle® Award (Minority Party) for thinking up more catchphrases for the faxed talking points than anyone else. Last year's winner was "Culture of Corruption."

She had to, of course, keep a straight face when presinging her entry. So to speak.
