The woman who would be speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has oddly stayed out of the national spotlight in the week leading up to the big vote.

The high profile, potentially history-making democrat has turned dramatically low-key.

The last photo of vanishing Pelosi on the wires was from an October 21 fundraiser.

And since Pelosi appeared on the October 22 broadcast of 60 MINUTES, national TV hits have been nonexistent.

A source close to the congresswoman explains she has been busy behind the scenes.

Pelosi made a brief appearance with Bill Clinton this week in San Fransisco.

Where is the would-be Speaker of the House? She is Hiding that is where!! Knowing full well how devisive and obnoxious a character she is she is keeping a low profile.

It won't work!! People will be reminded of who would be Speaker. A lot of people didn't like Newt, but he did not disappear like this craven pol.

Where's Nancy? In the witness protection program, sitting in a room next to Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy. They are not allowed out until one week and a day after Halloween. The caretakers were looking for John Kerry, and didn't find him until after it was too late.

That is true (and funny) about Kerry. The leaders have enough
sense to not let the worst symbols out after Halloween and before the election.
