Well, is Drudge ever going to put the story out? In a few hours the Times will have it published.

I will be a contrarian and suggest that just maybe, before the elections, the NYT is changing it's stripes and this will be a support piece for the Bush Admin I dunno ... This paper pimped for Stalin.

If this was from the dem side, we would have heard it a few days earlier when they were freaking out about Kerry, perhaps? That it was completely quiet until now, maybe rove?
Yes, I know my thinking is more hoping, but who knows.

i'm afraid they are latching on to conspiracy theory about the forward operating base falcon destruction earlier this month. a fire destroyed the ammunition dump at falcon during which, there was a huge explosion (that many daily-kossaks are convinced was a tactical nuke) producing a mushroom cloud.
my suspicion? that the nyt is going to run speculation-as-fact (again) and try and nail bush for having a nuke in iraq.

I don't think that is "nuke research"
Maybe this is why rove et al have been so weirdly optimistic.
To: letsgonova19087
How about "Bush caught giving nuclear bomb secrets to Iraqi terrorists in effort to legitimize lies he told while involving us in this illegal war"
Considering this is nyt thats got to be the ticket.
To: woofie
I hope you are right, but I do not recall when did the New York Times publish anything good about President Bush and the Republican Party. Anyway, if they are lying we have strong evidence to expose their lies.

What a bunch of morons. Clearly they know nothing about nuclear weapons or explosives in general. A nuclear weapon will not produce nuclear yield because it is burned or blown up by an outside explosion. All that will do is set off the HE in the nuke incorrectly and throw plutonium all over the place.
Secondly, when enough conventional explosives go off, it will produce a mushroom cloud.

"try and nail bush for having a nuke in iraq. "
What? First of all, there would be nuclear fallout all over Iraq, the Middle East and stretching into Asia. Second, why in the world would we need a nuke positioned in Iraq?

Nah, better as late as possible, like the DUI thing in 2000.
Allows less time for a reasoned response.
