A number of metro area people were not too happy Thursday evening after discovering their names and addresses printed in a local paper.
The Tennessee Tribune published hundreds of names and addresses of people who did not vote in the August primary, the last election.
Silas Allen, 65, said it came as a shock. He had no idea his name was printed in the weekly paper that focuses on issues in the African-American community. He wasn't too pleased.

When David Duke ran as a republican years ago, the San Diego Union listed the names, occupations, and area they lived in, of his local contributers.
The media should not take it upon themselves to publish a list of names of the general public that they do not approve of.

I bet it's a Rat scheme to scare African Americans into voting...or they're "gone see their names in the papers".

My guess is some of these people are .. ummm... "wanted".
I don't think this will help the Dem base.
If my name was on that list I would go downtown and..."Protest". Then I would sue that trashbag for all its worth.
Oh, I bet that will happen. I just wonder how they got the list. Does the FOIA cover this ?

If this portion of a citizens voting record is available to the public, who can be certain if their actual "votes" are also recorded, and available ....

The paper has the right to publish information in the public domain.
The more I think about this the more I like it. Why not publish the non-voters? Could tell everyone paying attention lots of things including exposing the dead, criminals, and more.
Hmmm...could it expedite vote fraud? A citizen group could pick names off the list (figure they are the ones least likely to vote in the next election) and then pretend to be them....vote hundreds of times possibly....yeah, I know if they're caught, there could be trouble, but...

So much for the Privacy Act. If it was me, I would be suing this Commie rag. Then I would stage a burglary at my house and pin that on the Commie rag also.

And the newspaper got this data from... whom? A polling place? Special Software?
...as they do to those not paying property taxes by a given date and, thus, are placed on the "dead beat" list in the local newspaper. Those names are also printed in the town report.
Each locality has the names of those registered voters in their district/community and are checked off as you enter to vote. In my case, am then given the ballot which I mark my vote(s) with a pencil!
BINGO!!! I'll bet a lot of those people listed will show up at the polls and find out that they've already voted. Those wascally 'RATS crack me up. They'll do anything to break the law.
So, this is Harold Ford Jr.'s GOTV strategy in the Black Community, huh?
