What's more, ExxonMobil was once part of Standard Oil (Exxon was (per Wikipedia) Esso, Enco, and Humble, and Mobil was once Standard Oil of New York).

And Mobil was originally SOCONY Mobile, aka Standard Oil Company of New York!
Jay (John D.) Rockefeller IV is a rich arrogant communist thanks to his great grandfather who started his famous oil empire which is now known as Exxon Mobil!

This is breathtaking. Now governmental officials are dictating to the private sector which research they can or cannot endorse with their own money?
This is a blatant effort to skew the science by defunding the skeptics, who are the only ones telling the truth!

I haven't looked at it yet, but I would bet the research Exxon has funded is better than most of the government-funded research done on global warming theory. And I'm no anti-environmentalist crank...I graduated in the top 10% of my class in Chemistry and I support scientifically sound environmental policies. Democrats and RINOs are just not telling the truth about global warming theory. It's a totally unproven theory in an extremely complex area of science that we don't fully understand yet.

Maybe Rockefeller is just upset that his family doesn't control the agenda at EXXON, like they did when it was Standard Oil.

Snowe will win pretty handily up here, so I don't even have to hold my nose and vote for the stupid dwarf, I simply will leave that part blank.

It has already happened. Bjorn Lomborg of Denmark (The Skeptical environmentalist) was accused of being a "climate change denier" and threatened with removal from his professorship and government post.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." WHAT part of that do you not understand?
Roughly all of it, but they'd probably allow 'redress' for selected voting blocs.

It's a totally unproven theory in an extremely complex area of science that we don't fully understand yet. Which is unfortunate because Mother Nature provided two isolated hemispheres to do scientific experiments in. Little climate transfer occurs across the equator due to the Coriolis effect. The hemispheres maintain two very different CO2 concentrations and the southern hemisphere has much less man made pollution. If climate change is truly global the CO2/human influence hypothesis must be rejected.
The truth is those on the socialist gravy train don't want technology solutions or double blind science. They are driven by envy of the United States economy.
Ok, what's the address again to get my anti-global warming co-op payment from Exxon? </s>

"WHAT part of that do you not understand?" I'd be shocked if they even knew what document those words came from.

Olympia Snowe is less than worthless. True. But I bet you everything there would be 1000 threads in here on why people should continue to vote for her. {cause da big bad Dem-a-booger might get a seat}. The GOP loves her and will support her unconditionally as one of it's protected species of RINO.
