Congratulations, and great editorial!
Below is a Letter to the Editor I wrote to the Seattle Times today.
Assume for a moment that John Kerry did botch a joke, and it was meant to come out as a slam against President Bushs intelligence. How did the university students he was speaking to react to this botched joke, with gasp of disbelief and shock at what he said, or applause, cheers and laughter? Listen to the audio and decide for yourself how his audience felt about his defamatory comments on the education of our military men and women. I dont believe all Democrats would show such disrespect to the Military in the way Kerry or his audience did and I would hope most know we have the finest most educated military in our country's history, but it does demonstrate a disturbing trend among those in the Democratic Party to look at our military only as hapless victims of society.
Way to go, Larry!
Bravo Zulu!
Good job. Some of these twits in the Senate really need to get out more and talk to real people.
BUMP!
Fantastic article, LS.
Kerry's a world class fool... LOL
Furthermore, contrary to the theme of so many modern war movies, such as "Black Hawk Down," "We Were Soldiers," or even "Flags of Our Fathers," where soldiers only "fight for each other," surveys of American servicemen and women show that they are quite perceptive as to the reasons for which we are in Iraq and Afghanistan, and see the struggle as a moral clash.
LS, this is wonderful stuff - I'm impressed. Thanks.
Congratulations, Larry. We are proud of you!!!!!
"Stuck in Iraq" = Kerry's Personal Quagmire
I can think of at least 30 personal acquaintances who would do a better job in the US Senate than Jon Carry.
Happy for you.
Not only does the army attract an educated group, but many join the armed forces wanting an education, since the army provides training & subsidizes college.
My father was able to get into graduate & medical school thanks to the GI Bill. (Besides a medical degree, he got a masters in genetics.)
So I think that says a lot about the intellectual calibre & ambition of our soldiers.
I'd only change one thing: I'd put the questions to any service -man or -woman vs. the low-GPA Jon Carry himself.
</presumptuous> ;o)
Now, my mother -- who was only allowed to complete the 8th grade, but it was the Depression -- who is one of the smartest people I know -- would call this idjit "Book smart and world dumb." That is being generous, but I digress...
