John Kerry says that only dopes are fighting in Iraq. Kerry is both a snob and a fool, and his presidential prospects are nil, and yet some good can still come from his ill-chosen and insensitive remarks.
Here's what the Massachusetts Democratic senator said to a college audience on Monday: "If ... you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." Ha ha. Kerry lamely tried to claim that he was referring to George W. Bush, not the GIs, but few were buying his spin.
...Break...
ABC's George Stephanopoulos, another ex-Democratic staffer, quoted a Democratic congressman: "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too."
....break.....
Kerry deserves credit for volunteering for Vietnam in the '60s, but since then his views have "evolved," in keeping with the limousine-liberal lifestyle that he married into. And from the back seat of a Town Car, it's perfectly obvious that only the economically oppressed and not-too-bright would join the armed services - plus the occasional warmonger.

No, he wasn't misinterpreted in any way.

Kerry deserves credit for volunteering for Vietnam in the '60s No he doesn't. He joined the Naval Reserves after failing to secure additional student deferrals. He went to Vietnam because his unit was called up, not because he volunteered.

ABC's George Stephanopoulos, another ex-Democratic staffer, quoted a Democratic congressman: "I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too." Actually, Kerry didn't "blow 2004" at all. The Democratic Party basically blew it when they nominated this mediocre hack in the first place.

When The New Republic has this to say about a Democrat, that Democrat has truly stepped foot where someone forgot to clean up after their dog.

There once was a scion so hairy,
He hated all things 'military',
At our troops he did poke,
a terrible joke,
and commited his own hari-kari!

Live-shot Kerry
Strikes the pose
Born with silver coke spoon
up his nose
Then he makes
a tremendous gaffe
too bad his botched joke
made Karl Rove laugh.

"...few were buying his spin." Too many are... even here on FR!
But, how could his statement possibly make any sense IF he was referring to the president. If he meant the President, what would have been telling those college students:
"If you don't make an effort to be smart you will not do well. You will become President; get us in a war that liberals like Kerry oppose; and then soundly defeat Kerry to be reelected for a 2nd Presidential term."
No way Kerry's statement was intended to be against Bush.

No way Kerry's statement was intended to be against Bush. How true. First, Bush's grades were better than Kerry's in college. Second, Bush isn't stuck in Iraq at all. He could bring everyone home tomorrow if he chose to. No, "stuck in Iraq" undoubtedly meant the soldiers who can't just up and leave. This also implied that our soldiers dont want to do the job.

Pres. Bush himself told college students this:>
"And to the C students -- (applause) -- I say, you, too, can be President of the United States. (Laughter and applause.) A Yale degree is worth a lot, as I often remind Dick Cheney -- (laughter) -- who studied here, but left a little early. So now we know -- if you graduate from Yale, you become President. If you drop out, you get to be Vice President"
So Tommy Flanagan Kerry must have really been talking about Dick Cheney...yeah..that's the ticket.
