WASHINGTON - A group of GIs showed they are smart enough to take on condescending Sen. John Kerry - by deploying a hilariously misspelled sign mocking the failed presidential candidate's comments about their education.
"Halp us Jon Carry - We R stuck hear n Irak," read the sign, which was apparently the brainchild of a group of service members from the Minnesota National Guard.
The picture was first revealed yesterday on the blog Web site of Milwaukee talk radio host Charlie Sykes, who said he got it from a listener who had a buddy in the unit.
The picture soon raced around the Internet, and it got much of the nation chuckling when it went up on Drudge Report later in the day.
Staff Sgt. Erik Holtan, a member of the Minnesota National Guard, says he saw the picture and recognized the insignia as that of his fellow Minnesota guardsmen - and he immediately put it up on his own blog site.
"It's awesome," he told The Post. "The troops over there have to be livid because of what [Kerry] said. I don't know why he would say that."
Holtan, who works at Guard headquarters, said he believes the troops behind the Kerry sign are in Iraq, since all the members of the unit in the shot - the 1/34 Brigade Troops Battalion - have been deployed.
He said he can see a unit insignia on one of the vehicles in the background and those vehicles have also gone to Iraq.
Fox News Channel quoted Army officials saying that the picture looked authentic and appeared to be taken in Iraq.
"We are always amazed at the creativity of our troops," one Army official told Fox.
Without citing sources, ABC News in Washington said the photograph was taken in Talil,

I love the statement by the Army official about the "creativity" of the troops. Translation: "Bravo Zulu! Wish I'd thought of it myself."

Our talking point should be very simple.
The Democrats have always said that they hate the war but support the troops.
This was always a lie. Now John Kerry has revealed that the Democrats hate both the war and our troops.
Election won.
Also, isn'y that sort of expression of contempt (above and beyond simple statement of political opinion) for a sitting member of the civilian government something that could get them in trouble under the UCMJ if the issue were pressed?
bttt
All those Kerry sycophants? They're going to see anything they write in the context of Kerry's halo.
I suggest that anybody who has a color printer go ahead and print this out, try to laminate it, if possible and stick it on their cars like a bumper sticker until next Tues.
Self ping for later.

Excellent idea. Doing it now.
Do you have a link of their comments?
Many are FReepers or lurkers. Often I've heard something on for instance Brit Hume's show, and I know the only place they could have gotten it from was FR. Unfortunately most of the time FR gets called a "blog" which it isn't.
You analysis is logically correct. But leave it to JF'nK to always err on the opposite side of US servicemen and women.
Great headline.
Good one - right on both counts.
JFn'K had zero chance in 2008 (dims hate their own losers), and now his chances are Less Than Zero.
But that's the small question. The big question is:
Did JFn'K just single-handedly save the Republican Party in '06?
If so, he deserves a hero's welcome in Crawford.
I'm not welcomed there (banned, ridiculed as a "GOP Shill and FReeper" after only 13 rather mild disagreement with postings lauding Fidel Castro) so cannot perform a search...but I saw it yesterday after lurking...the argument made was that the photo had to be faked "because no trees grow in the desert" LOL!
A big Amen to that. Their sign was one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a long time. By now, I'm sure the whole world has seen it too. Now, it's Mr. Kerry that needs "halp." LOL
