Also, isn'y that sort of expression of contempt (above and beyond simple statement of political opinion) for a sitting member of the civilian government something that could get them in trouble under the UCMJ if the issue were pressed?

You hit the nail on the head, Steve. It can be interpreted as comtempt for a public official (not that it's undeserving in this case!).

I'm afraid that these boys will be punished for their opinion. We all know how something so insignificant can run a military career.
