It all began with what Senator John Kerry now calls a flubbed joke.
"You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, and if you don't get you get stuck in Iraq," Kerry told a group of college students.
Republicans, including the president on the Rush Limbaugh show today, call Kerry's comment an insult to our troops in Iraq....

"I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended,"
but for those who didn't hear it he meant what he said.

Does this mean he sternly refused to apologize before he apologized? He has never apologized to me and the other Vietnam Vets he slandered.
I don't get this.
He calls a press conference yesterday to say that Bush owes all of us an apology for the mess in Iraq. He shows up in person to deliver that message.
His apology today was simply a posting on his web site? He didn't show up in person to deliver that message?
Why didn't he show up in person? Is he that afraid that reporters would ask him questions?
This whole incident is a Profile in Courage moment in Kerry's life.
While John Kerry is making "amends", see to it that he finally turns in that signed 180 form.

He didn't want tape of him making the apology to be played back to back with his "I will NEVER apologize" quote.
Kerry is now apologizing for what he calls a botched joke about Iraq.
I think he's apologizing for a bad joke. Not for insulting the troops.
He said, "I'm sorry if you were an idiot and misinterpreted my words"(thats pretty much what he said, he didn't say that he was sorry for saying it in the first place.)
The only joke I heard was John F'n Kerry himself.
He claimed that he was referring to President Bush.
In that light, he should apologize to President Bush.
MSM carrying water for J'Effin. Calling the non-apology and "apology" in the headline, hoping the case is closed. His weasel words are what passes for an apology in the metrosexual community these days.
Inching away from his comments but its a weak apology.
He is sorry if "YOU misunderstood him" or "you were tricked by the right wing attack machine" and were offended.
