A Statement from John Kerry
As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.
I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I dont want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

That's not an apology. It's a lie. He wants us to believe that he didn't say what he clearly said.
TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.
He uses a passive verb, but the accusation is that if you thought he was talking about the troops then it's YOUR fault. Not his.
Too late...
Can't he make an "apology" without blaming someone else (Bush, The Republicans, RNC, American Legion) for his mistake. Dang it, John, just say that you're a dufus and that you're sorry for saying something so blastedly stupid. Then the whole issue, might be (I hope not), done.
Someone should go over to DU and post this. They haven't heard yet and they're all hungry for some wussie-baloney sandwiches.
Moron.
I'm sure his writers could have done better.
No, he cannot. He is a kept man and an awkward liar.
Kerry Still can't take Responsibility.. He Still has to blame Everyone but Himself!
"...blah blah blah Bush's failed policy blah blah misunderstood blah blah blah iraq a failure blah..."
Out to lunch alert.
The Damage has already been done. He should go away. Hopefully for the GOP he won't...
Lt. Kerry, out.
What happened to "I Apologize to No One!"
That is the same thing Pelosi's office said when I called and complained about Kerry's statements. Her aid said he was "Sorry I misinterpreted what Kerry said".
These inherited or married wealth liberals are unbelievably egotistical.
Me thinks it has gotten a little hot in the Democratic kitchen the last couple of days.
I was trying to think of a good t-shirt to go with the champagne we are going to have when the Dems lose big next week.....
I like "Unedjumicated Infidel"..... so far, that's my favorite.
