the dynamics of CCW in a major city, as opposed to the "heartland" - are two totally different things. living in a major city is stressful, you come into contact with alot of people everyday, alot of possible confrontations (just boarding a subway train). if everyone were carrying a gun, there would be dozens of shootings per day just over these incidents.

That's right. During the 1780s, when the Constitution was being drafted, humans lived in the wilderness as loose tribal groups of hunter-gatherers. With their smaller brains and stunted intellectual development, no one in those days could imagine modern innovations like 'cities' and 'guns.'

I think the opposite is true:

Crime tends to be much higher in big cities. I think hoolums would be far less inspired to attack little old ladies if they could never be sure which little old lady was concealing a handgun in her shopping cart. Guns are the great equalizer.

Mike, there's a way to fix this 'mistake' as you view it by the founding fathers... Amend the constitution. Otherwise, shut up, sit down, and follow the law.
