Father we ask for mercy for this nation, we ask for Your intervention in this election. Father, we sense that there is war in the heavenlies over this election and that the forces of evil desire that wickedness would increase, but we stand in the name of Your son Jesus against those forces, and pray for our land.

We ask that You help each of us individually to turn from our own wicked ways and we plead with you to heal our land.

We pray that You would awaken those who are complacent. We ask that You send a sense of urgency to those who are not concerned. We ask that You change hearts and minds. We ask that You would open the ears of those who have been deaf to the cries of the unborn, and the eyes of those who have been blind to their plight, and make them aware that this election is of great importance.

We pray that You would confuse the voices of wickedness, so that they cannot operate as an organized unit.

A few years back I met President Bush. I could hear people encouraging him on as he quickly walked the rope lines. I told him I was praying for him. He stopped held both my hands, looked me square in the eyes and told me thank you, and that he and everyone in DC really needed prayers. He spoke with me for over a minute & and all I could remember he said was pray for us. I was a little overwhelmed with bright cameras around us and the mics they held above our head.(It was definitely not a private conversation. But, God made sure I remembered the purpose of being able to meet him in the first place. I was called to pray for him. We all are, but I felt like I got a personal invitation. You did too at a very crucial moment in time.

Father I lift us President Bush and all of our leaders down to the city level. Watch over and protect them. Give them all wisdom, knowledge, discernment & understand. Those who slander and lie about the innocent people, I pray You reveal to ALL their lies & close their mouths. Give President Bush words, Your words to move the hearts and minds of those who hear him to not just fear you, love you, but also to OBEY you. Keep him close to your word and heart.

Lord, I also lift up Jim Talent, George Allen, Michael Steele, Mike DeWine, Pete Ricketts, Bob Corker & all other pro-life, pro-family candidates. You are the God of miracles, and we ask for many now. Father, we know we have sinned in this country, but we ask for forgiveness and for favor. Please do not put people in leadership who will try to make sin into laws. Help us to fast and pray for this election and prepare us for the next.

We thank You that You hear our prayers and care.

In Jesus name we pray
