THE REAL FREEPERS!!
Those in attendance include Kristinn, GunsareOK, BufordP, Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), Lurker Bill and myself. [Mrs] T took the pictures.
BufordP had a good time with the moonbats today. No Mr. Bull Horn for him. The moonbats heard every word he directed to them. The moonbats answered back several times and one moonbat was shaking her head 'yes' or 'no' to his questions. We found out she likes apple pie but not baseball.
The buses were real supportive of us this morning. One car load of supportive kids hung out the windows and yelled to us.
We had one guy stop by and talked extensively with Kristinn and GunsareOK. Looks like we have a possible new FReeper. He plans to be at Walter Reed in the near future.
BELOW LEFT: BufordP helping to set up for the FReep. BELOW RIGHT: BufordP with flip sign.
BELOW LEFT: Kristinn with BufordP, myself and CTS in back ground. BELOW RIGHT: GunsareOK helping Lurker Bill on the left flank.
BELOW LEFT: CTS BELOW RIGHT: Great pic of storm clouds. The rain we got at Walter Reed the night before held off for us.
BELOW RIGHT: Hair-challenged guy talking to me and CTS. He wanted to see how our side differed from the moonbats since we both have 'support the Troops'. He left satisfied that he was talking to the right people.
After the FReep it was off to the Olney Tavern for lunch, a hot cup of coffee and cold beer.
BELOW TOP: Kristinn, CTS and BufordP. BELOW BOTTOM: BufordP - "Who Me?"
BELOW LEFT: [Mrs] T and GunsareOK. Finally a pic of [Mrs] T.
AND THE MOONBATS WERE OUT THERE.
BELOW TOP: The Person in the middle of the moonbats holding a very unreadable sign has posted comments on Olney Week 43's AAR starting at Post 47. BELOW BOTTOM: The Person: "Yes, I will follow thee".
BELOW LEFT: The Person bringing signs for moonbats.
BELOW LEFT: Moonbats ruining a real nice fall pic. BELOW RIGHT: Hey \/\/ayne, No need to photoshop this pic, the idiot Moonbats already did your job.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney See Post 39 Here. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to BufordP for enhancing the original plain type directions.
The Archive of Olney FReeps is here or in the LINKS section of Trooprally's ABOUT Page.
2nd Olney AAR is up for your easy reading.
You are still mentioned in this AAR
Psst...Mrs. T is beautiful. Don't tell her. Might make her prideful. Good AAR.
I'll let [Mrs] T know about your compliment.
But you know you are going to make it hard to live with her for the rest of the week. That's why I don't post very many pics of her. :- ))
[Mr] T
bttt
Much better! Glad you didn't have rain to contend with. Hopefully we won't have an undesirable comments to edit this time.
Thanks - but I liked the other thread better. "The Person" has posted more on last week's thread. Check it out.
[Mr] T
I've only ever lurked on the D.C. Freeper threads but I caught the original Olney 44 last night. o_0
I don't understand why it was pulled. It was informative. XD
Anyway, since I've never said before let me say now. I look forward to reading the Olney/Walter Reed threads every week. Great job and thanks for all the facts on the ground reports.
Hi everyone,
I just left a thread that just pissed me off, and was wondering if some people could go over and express their opinion (I am hoping you will agree with me, but if not I understand)
The thread is titled "War in Iraq is a Cake Walk" at
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1730791/posts?page=159
I took particular exception with this guy's (Domenic Harr) use of the word "Cake Walk", as I am sure many combat vets from Iraq might. I did not disagree with his premise, that comparatively speaking, this war is easier in some respects than say, Tarawa, Bastogne or Gettysburg were, but that does not give someone license to characterize it as a "Cake Walk".
I am asking this of you in this thread, because I know that many of you would agree with me that this guy would not have the guts to make that statement in front of Walter Reed.
Be warned though, and use your discretion: He has admitted to using the phrase simply as a device to bump the thread, and my asking you to look a the thread and comment may be playing into this jerk's hands.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated...
The editorial that was printed in several military papers was written by ONE man. It is not an acknowledgment of some consensus or poll of the military. It is clearly designed to impact the election. Personally, my family ( military for 20 yrs.) Won't be buying the Army Times again.
Here's a poll of the troops in Iraq:
Le Moyne College/Zogby Poll shows just one in five troops want to heed Bush call to stay as long as they are needed.
58% say mission is clear, 42% say U.S. role is hazy.
Plurality believes Iraqi insurgents are mostly homegrown.
Almost 90% think war is retaliation for Saddams role in 9/11, most dont blame Iraqi public for insurgent attacks.
Majority of troops oppose use of harsh prisoner interrogation.
Plurality of troops pleased with their armor and equipment.
According to the survey YOU site:
58% say mission is clear which means the MAJORITY OF TROOPS SAY MISSION IS CLEAR
Poll shows just one in five troops want to heed Bush call to stay as long as they are needed.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO ADD THE FACT THAT THE MAJORITY (3/4 )OF TROOPS SURVEYED HAD SERVED MULTIPLE TOURS. THIS IS NOT AS COMMON AS SOME WOULD LIKE TO IMPLY. Do you think there was a desire to get the most tired, pissed off troops possible to answer these questions?
I also noticed in the link this: "Four in five said they oppose the use of such internationally banned weapons as napalm and white phosphorous." Interesting. This was plainly added to support the nasty article by the liberal British paper "The Guardian" that claimed that US soliders used White phosphorus in Fallujah. However, a few important details were forgotten. 1. White phosphorus is not used as a weapon. It is used to create smoke to conceal troop movement. 2. white phosphorus is used in fireworks all over the country and has no "chemical weapon" effect.
Let's start with some hard bruising truths you need to face:
1) I find it hard to believe that you've known about the Free Republic since 9-9-2000 but have learned so little about what they really stand for.
2) I find it very strange that you would stand with those who choose to embolden our enemy by undermining our troops mission while they hypocritically say they support it.
3) I find it repulsive that you would then cross the street and offer a handshake after 1 1/2 hours of standing opposite our troop support rally.
Let me make this clear. We acknowledge that you are not very well informed, and encourage you to read more of the Free Republic to gain more facts and truth.
We don't feel the need to associate with you. Your "pats on the back" are not only unwanted, we consider them an intrusion to our personal space. We are NOT the corner of appeasement and accommodation, so don't look for us to "make nice" at the end of the day.
Just know that we are keeping an eye out, and will record any unwanted future encounters with you. Your comment last week saying that "we are a trip"....funny, I was thinking the same about you. You are so fortunate to have the protection of the flag for your free speech rights, and soldiers who are willing to die for that freedom. Don't you think it would be better if you just said "thank you" and went home? WE DO!
