Hook son's job on Tube By NICK PARKER October 31, 2006
THE terrorist son of hook-handed Abu Hamza has been working on Londons Tube, The Sun can reveal. Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 25 a convicted fanatic who has glorified suicide attacks like the 7/7 slaughter was rumbled by Underground workmates when they saw his picture in The Sun. They went straight to bosses, who told Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 25, to sling his hook. But last night fury erupted over the security shambles that led to the convicted terrorist being granted astonishing access to Londons Tube network. Mostafa was given a pass to do labouring jobs. The lank-haired extremist worked in restricted areas near stations classified in the Undergrounds top area the zone most likely to be attacked by bombers.

Sinister ... masked Mostafa behind evil dad in 2004 |
But his identity was discovered by stunned workmates late last week when The Sun unmasked him as a spiv trying to sell the secrets of his evil hook-handed father for £60,000. |
|
Bosses sacked Mostafa given a jail stretch in Yemen for plotting to blow up British and US targets within hours.
An Underground source said the self-styled Muslim rapper, who has also crowed about holy war and suicide attacks like the 7/7 atrocities, worked a few weekends on the network.
The source added: He could go to sensitive places off limits to the public.
But after his picture was in the paper colleagues knew who it was immediately. They were stunned and the bosses had kittens when they were told.
The fear was he could have planted anything down there and he had access to the top area. Its the area that, if hit, would cause the maximum damage imaginable. I cant believe he slipped through the net.
London Underground confirmed Mostafa, of Wembley, North London, had been employed and issued with a permit by an unidentified sub-contractor.

Exposed ... our story last week |
A spokesman said: It seems this person was granted a permit because he has no criminal convictions in the UK and has a right to work in this country. The question of whether the checks were tight enough is a matter for the Government to address.
John Taylor, who lost 24-year-old daughter Carrie in the Aldgate blast on 7/7, said he was shocked and stunned by the fiasco.
The dad, a security manager of Billericay, Essex, added: This man is a convicted terrorist and he has been allowed access to some of the most sensitive parts of the Tube.
Labour MP Andrew Dismore said: It beggars belief. It wasnt like he was nicked for shoplifting it was terror offences in Yemen. Youd think the Underground would be particularly sensitive to terrorism.

Because of comments occasionally made on other threads, I feel the need to add that my posting of this item is not intended as "Brit-Bashing"...I'm guessing that errors such as those outlined in this article could have happened in the USA or any other country. The point of my posting this was more along the lines of a reminder that we must all remain vigilant in the war on terror, because the terrorists certainly are. Also, it reminds us of how important the average person is in this war, in that his identity was discovered by chance by co-workers not specifically involved in law enforcement. It shows that we all must keep our eyes open and not be shy about speaking up when we notice something's amiss.

The one question that no one seems to be asking is why a convicted terrorist is allowed to live and work in the UK.

The one question that no one seems to be asking is why a convicted terrorist is allowed to live and work in the UKPerhaps in the UK they have their own version of Jamie Gorelick (sp?) who has gone out of her way to erect walls that prevent different agencies from talking to one another and sharing information?

Obviously you fail to understand that surrounding him with the love, kindness, understanding and tolerance of the nice British people will change him into a good, ordinary citizen who walks to church on Sunday, tends his rose garden, sings in the local glee club, shops at his local farmers' market, and spends a few evenings a week quietly reading the works of Shakespeare. Any good Liberal can tell you this.

Update to All: The Mayor Of London speaks:
Red Ken's U-Turn Over Hamza's Son - UK News Headlines
Red Ken's U-Turn Over Hamza's Son
Tuesday, 31st October 2006, 17:18Category: Crime and Punishment
London Mayor "Red" Ken Livingstone was left red-faced today after making an embarrassing U-turn over the terrorist son of jailed preacher of hate Abu Hamza.
Speaking at his weekly press conference at City Hall this morning Livingstone said he would be "happy" to have Mohammed Kamel Mostafa working on the underground.
Mostafa was reportedly given a security pass to work for contractors on the tube network before bosses learned of his background.
When it was pointed out to Mr Livingstone during his press conference that 25-year-old Mostafa, the eldest son of jailed hook-handed cleric Hamza, had a terrorist conviction overseas he launched into a tirade and said: "We are happy to have him work here for us."
However, within hours of the press conference the Mayor's office issued a press release in which Mr Livingstone stated it had been "correct to dismiss him."
Mostafa has a conviction in Yemen for plotting to blow up British and US targets, and has recorded rap songs glorifying holy war and suicide attacks like those in London last July.
The Mayor - dubbed Red Ken for his support of leftist causes - said during the press conference there was no reason Mostafa should not be allowed to work on the underground system.
Challenged on the security breach, Mr Livingstone said: "No-one should be blamed for what their parents do.
"You wouldn't say to someone 'you can't work on the tube because your mum is the editor of The Sun.'"
When it was pointed out that Mostafa was a convicted terrorist, the Mayor replied: "I wouldn't be at all surprised if MI6 was working with him to try to overthrow the regime in Yemen.
"Has he been convicted of any offence in Britain? The answer is no. We are happy to have him work here for us."
However, in a statement issued six hours later by the Mayor's press office Mr Livingstone said: "In this country a person cannot be sacked for what their parents do. It is the actions of Mohammed Kamel Mostafa himself which are relevant.
"However, Mr Mostafa has convictions in Yemen. These must be taken into account. They should have been brought to light by those doing the security checks, the failure to do so must be investigated. As he failed to declare these to the subcontractor they are correct to dismiss him."

UPDATE 2 to All: Livingstone backs terrorist's Tube job News This is London
Excerpt:
"He was employed by a sub-contractor working for Tube Lines, the private sector consortia which looks after the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. The Jubilee line serves Westminster, the most politically sensitive station on the Underground and where security is supposed to be at its highest level.
Working as a labourer on the Jubilee line would have given Mostafa - jailed in Yemen in 1999 for plotting to kill Western tourists - access to the labyrinth of tunnels at Westminster and where the Tube runs virtually under Parliament."
