Swedish road menace caught
A Swede who delights in giving speeding cameras the finger while driving past at high velocity in a car without license plates has been caught.

The man, who has been recorded three times while giving the camera the finger at a speed high enough to qualify for automatic loss of license was taken by police on the E6 highway near Sarpsborg on Sunday night.
"Now his speeding days are over. The man is with us and awaiting questioning," Kay Wammer of the Østfold police told newspaper Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad.
The Swede has been clocked at 123, 124 and 132 kph (76, 77 and 82 mph) in the Sarpsborg area.
The lack of license plates gave the police problems tracking the driver down, but they noticed that all of the offenses on record occurred late Sunday nights, so they went looking for him then.
The man reportedly has been arrested for similar offenses in Sweden.

Full of machismo, but stupid . I am glad you don't automatically loose your license here for 76 mph...

Heck on the freeways here in Dallas going under 75 MPH makes you a menace.

Anything under 75 on the highway here and every driver on the road will be giving you the finger.

Hi All-"...A Swede who delights in giving speeding cameras the finger while driving past at high velocity in a car without license plates has been caught..."
They've got an enormous Muslim problem over there and they want to take the time to call a guy operating a car at a measly 82 m.p.h. someone who is engaged in high velocity driving? That constitutes a crime story in their minds? Wow.

If that is their concept of extreme speeding, they would not last long on the freeways of Houston.
To: GeorgiaFreeper
He wouldn't last long on the German Autobahns, either. I don't know if they still have unlimited speed sections, but I do know when I drove on one of them many years ago, doing about 90MPH, I had several cars go by me as if I were standing still. They were doing at least 150MPH.

The article didn't mention what the speed limit was. Was he going 82 on a freeway or in a school zone?

The Swedes are very humorless about things like this, I suspect. Rules are rules.
So it could have been a school zone, or he could have just been going just a little over the speed limit. But the sight of this guy giving them the finger would have been enough to set the whole police force out to nail him.
