The NBA and the Orlando Magic on Monday banned for the season the fan whose alleged racial slur incited Houston Rockets center Dikembe Mutombo at a preseason game last week.
Season-ticket holder Hooman Hamzehloui allegedly called Mutombo a "monkey" Thursday in the third quarter of the Rockets-Magic game. Mutombo yelled back at Hamzehloui and gestured from the court.

Just a preview of life for African-Americans if the Islamists were ever to take over here.
It was a rude (and racist) statement whether or not the guy's a Muslim. However, Islam does have a thing with racism toward descendants of Ham (including Africans).
It indeed was rude and racist, but I'm just wondering if he was trying to insult him because he's black or because he is an infidel.
This is most interesting, considering what brand of hyphenated americans tend to gravitate toward the name changing religion.
Pro....bably the former (guess).
"Mutombo said after the game he would go into the stands next time even if he got fined for it"
Lets see someone heckles , not threatens a multi-millionaire ENTRERTAINER by simply calling him a monkey, and he threatens violence back. This whole monkey thing is getting out of hand . Whats next not even using the word monkey but referring to it as the "M" word, people need to grow some thick skins because theres a hell of alot more important things in this world than being called a monkey. Lord knows my 5 year old niece calls me one every weekend.
Obviously the Orlando Magic management have never been to Yankee Stadium. I've seen Yankee fans (especially if the Red Sox are in town) call the opposing players much, much worse names--names that would get me banned here if typed.
"Boo-frickin'-hoo... He called me a monkey!" LOL!!!!
I suggest that the season ban is an politically correct over reaction on the part of the Magic staff.
He should have said "micky" then it would have been OK. (/sarc)
If I were the opposing team I would have about 5 plants at every game calling him a monkey. Pretty soon he would be one less player to worry about.
To be honest the whole story seems a farce to me.
A player is called a monkey and a paying spectator is tossed out the team and the league apologise to him, is this scrappleface? The player threatens to go into the stands after spectators and they kiss his ass? Crazy.
You are asking way too much in this PC world.
You are soooo wrong! Have you ever been a season ticket holder? I have, and I can tell you there are rules for a reason. That arena is Mr. Mutombo's office. He deserves to be treated there with the same respect, courtesy and decorum that you and I expect at our places of employment.
Apology accepted.
Nobody ever comes to my office and cheers or boos me.
This is really lame.
Hooman Hamzehloui needs to sit down and STFU.
Dikembe Mutombo needs to grow up.
I dont think I offered an apology and dont expect to.
If this clown wants to leave the court and come into the audience he should be arrested and charged when he does it.
Maybe Streisand gets upset at hecklers, Professional ball players better learn to suck it up.
Desensitizing and the lowering of expectations.
When the Pacers went into the stands in Detroit after being physically assualted by a fan throwing a beer they suspende Artest for a season, and several others for months.
Now the Pacers can fire weapons at strip clubs and be caught with marajuana and the league doesn't respond and its acceptable for Matumbo to blanketly threaten the fan base.
I really used to enjoy the nba now my home team ( pacers) are thugs and the rest of the league is not far behind.
I agree. Afterall, Hamzehloui is only hooman....
