Republicans See Edge From Early Voting

Down in the polls and with their majorities in Congress at risk, Republicans say they have some good news in early-voting statistics that suggest their voter-turnout machine is providing an edge in some tight races.

If the trend holds, it could mean that early voting is growing -- and continuing to benefit Republicans, who exploited the practice in the 1990s. Experts say early voters could be a bigger factor this year when overall voter turnout could be lower than in 2004, a presidential-election year.

I thought that was Mayor Daley [not LBJ who said "Vote early and vote often"] - oh well - it is the Dems theme song.

You may be right. And Boss Tweed probably said it before him. And Elbridge Gerry probably said it before him.

Unfortunately, you are definitely correct about this being the Rats' current MO. Their buses are running as we speak all across this great land -- everywhere you turn, from the inner city slums like Philly, to the lower Rio Grande Valley, to the barrios of LA, to the row houses of South Boston, to the nursing homes in Florida, to the boroughs of New York ... to cemetaries everywhere.

Despite her dislike of Lieberman, Hillary looks forward to his victory, as does Kerry, because it means an end to the MoveOn and A.N.S.W.E.R. insurgency. It also gives the Dhimmicrat national committee the pretext it needs to remove Dean, another obstacle (and possible rival) to both. If Dean is removed (or resigns and takes the blame, which is what they'll all prefer), there will be a struggle over who replaces him. Whoever wins will be on the way to the 2008 nomination.

Best case scenario, Dean stays. :')

California's Angelides' disaster (no, not his winning the election; I mean, a disaster for the Dhimmicrats) may wind up dragging a bunch of others down into the pit with him, and Kerry is an obvious possibility. Ordinarily he'd have been helping himself with the future presidential campaign and all those California delegate votes; his stupid gaffe about how dumb the US armed forces are weakened him (except, perhaps, among the straight-ticket California Dhimmicrat zealots) and strengthened the Swifties and other veterans. I don't think his stupidity will be held against him in the long term, except as a bludgeon from now until the day that the lying treasonous wretch breathes his last.

Despite her negatives (40 per cent, at least, would vote against her regardless of the opponent, but that means she could wind up with a landslide victory), Hillary is the one to beat, and we have to do everything we can to make sure she's defeated in favor of a lesser nominee.

Regardless of my dislike for McCain, four (or eight) years of him would be much better than four (or eight) years of Hillary or Kerry. Hillary or Kerry would be like cancer for this country. McCain would be like athlete's foot, or maybe a head cold.

I voted advanced voting in Georgia in the last election. It took longer to vote than when I voted at my local precinct. In the primary, I voted in the precinct and it was very quick. I will vote straight GOP, expect possibly T. Baker, I have been impressed with him. Perdue and Cagle look good to go.

However if they don't win enough to assume control of congress, look for more paranoid theories about voting machines being rigged.....

Democrats have been screaming about rigged voting machines for several years. All their claims are just so much BS. Introduce me to someone who claims that he/she can rig or hack the voting machines and they will have introduced me to a liar.

In our county, which is heavily Democrat, there have already been reports that some mail in absentee ballots may not be valid because some signed only once when there are two different places that have to be signed. Since Democrats in this county have absentee voting down to a science I have to believe that it is mostly their votes that may not count. How simple must we make ballots and how plain must we write instructions so that some voters get it right?
