In a report in 2000, the Department of Defense inspector general said that ADCS, a company owned by Brent Wilkes, got a $9.7 million contract under pressure from two congressmen. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the two congressmen were Hunter and Randy Cunningham. [7] Wilkes is currently an unindicted co-conspirator.
here
the media would have a field day with this true or not..
I would readily favor him over any of the others I have heard mentioned.
Communist Sympathizer
Duncan Hunter is one of our 5 San Diego Congressmen.
He probably has more experience and general knowledge to be president than probably any named so far.
He is also one of the few adults in the lot.
His knowledge of world issues, the war and military exceeds
those named so far.
Over 20 yrs in congress. Chairman of the Armed Services Comm.
A Conservative.
A VN vet. His son a Marine who has served in Iraq.
He is also active and tough on the border issue.
"with as big of a stink as he put up over DPW"
Sore loser.
well, if you're serious about an issue follow up on it. Most Americans have a short memory but I don't.
it doesn't matter if its true or not, you know how the media works.
Yes, how the media work: whoever becomes the new Republican leader will be equated with Hitler within 12 months. Time Magazine will have him on a black and red cover with the title, "Some say he's the Antichrist," and smoke and barbed wire in the background.
But it does matter whether it's true, and it matters whether conservatives toss their own overboard at the slightest threat. The liberal media will attack anyone they fear.
Sorry, the Time cover will happen within 12 months. The Hitler comparison will happen in under 12 minutes.
America elects Governors generally.
****
And look what that got us. Duncan Hunter would be a big improvement over anyone else whose now running. The real problem he has is the Republican establishment doesn't want a conservative in the White House.
From a campaign mindset, I imagine, that's a headache to think about. But this is somewhat like the issue with the Supreme Court nominations. I like to know who I'm getting. If nothing else, having Duncan Hunter in the primary race would press the others to answer the border issue.

I remember when this happened. I was on a conference call with Congressmen Hunter, David Dreier, Tom DeLay, Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth, and a few other people, and this was most of the discussion. They were all against allowing China to take over the Long Beach port, but as you know, Clinton did it anyway.
They were also talking about Clinton allowing China to have our super computers with our defense information on them. That is the reason China has made such strides in their military. China is fast becoming a credible threat to our own military. All the more reason we don't want another President Clinton. Duncan's a good guy, and I personally think he would make an excellent President. In fact, I will work on his campaign, if he decides to run.
oh no doubt, we need a good strong conservative in the primary, I just don't think hes the right one. I'd rather see (if its gonna be a Congresscritter or senator) Tom Coburn
ping
He better watch out. He has enemies in the DoJ and Pentagon. Curt Weldon already found out what happens when you take them on.
