I'm going to see President Bush speak tomorrow!! (Vanity and Excitement)

Posted on 10/29/2006 3:55:37 PM PST by browngreengold

Tomorrow morning President Bush will be speaking approx 25 miles from my home and my sons and I are fortunate enough to have gotten tickets.

This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and I cannot begin to express how excited all three of us are.

I am worse than a little kid on Christmas morning.

Sorry for the vanity post but I just couldn't help it.

:)

Awesome! I was jealous when my husband got tickets to Bush's event here in Michigan on Thursday. A good time was had by all who attended. Have fun!

I've seen him three times in the past six years -- it will be quite an experience for you (like a rock concert!). Please post pictures.

I saw President Reagan speak at a rally in CT during the 1984 campaign. It was so exciting. Reagan of course had a youthful exuberance that belied his 73 years at the time.

I have never heard GWB speak in person but I hope maybe I will on Veteran's Day. I will be making the trip to DC in hopes he will speak at Arlington Cemetery. Some years he has made an appearance there but last year he did not. So I am hoping he will return this year.

Enjoy your moment in history and take pics for your kids so they can pass them on to their children. Nothing stirs a child's imagination more than seeing his family's brush with greatness.

One photo of my uncle with Pres. Eisenhower started in me a passion for history and politics that I thank God every day for and if I had your opportunity I'd be giddy too.

He's a remarkable human being, our President.

I saw Dubya in his first Presidential campaign when he came to Arizona. I interrupted my camping trip to drive into town to see him. There were at least a thousand there to see and hear him -- "Help is on the way!"

Today I was where he will be speaking tomorrow, but tomorrow I can't go because I have to work.

I know some students who are happy because tomorrow's morning classes will be optional, because the parking lots will either be closed for security reasons, or filled with visitors.

Tomorrow President Bush will be campaigning for Max Burns, in Statesboro GA.

It's been all over the news in coastal Georgia for the past week.

Have a great time! Are you in the Houston area? I'll be at that event w/President Bush and am pretty stoked to go.

Well, may you see something interesting, besides a canned speech. In '84 Ronald the Great came to Rochester NY. The gathering was kept in a local hockey arena, some 12000. There were some protesters, and as soon as they unfurled their posters they were roughed up - NOT by the security [then it would have been more organized], but by the attendees, for it was spontaneous. And observing it up close was highly educational.
