The forces of radical Islam are getting very bold in Malaysia; an American couple was subjected to a humiliating, terrifying 2 am khalwat inspection by religious enforcement officers:
Retired American policeman Randal Barnhart, who was subjected to a 2am raid by religious enforcement officers, is reconsidering his plan to make Malaysia his second home.
After that unpleasant episode two weeks ago, I do not feel like making Malaysia my second home. It is a pity because both my wife and I really love Langkawi, he said.
On Oct 12, Barnhart, 62, and his wife Carole, 61, were in their rented condominium in Kuah when enforcement officers continuously knocked on their door at 2am, accusing them of committing khalwat (close proximity).
He said the officers demanded to see his marriage certificate, although he had told them that they were Christians and should not be subjected to Islamic law.
We find it difficult to forget the unpleasant episode. My wife was so terrified by the incident that she fears sleeping in that condominium, he added.
Banhart said the officers were rude and insisted on seeing the woman when he opened the door. My wife had to show herself despite only having a sarong on at that time. We felt humiliated for being treated this way, he said.
He said he had to send his wife back to the United States on the next available flight because she feared people might return to the condominium to terrify her in the middle of the night.
She flew home on Wednesday.
I want the religious department to apologise to me and my wife in writing,

HELLO COUPLE they are crazy muslums get through your thick skulls GEEEEE
" the religious department to apologise to me and my wife in writing,
I am amazed that a retired cop would be so naive as to say something like that...
But, here he is alone with a boat on the wrong side of the Pacific Ocean.
I think that I understand that Malaysia is going backwards.
Not only are they loosing their language skills, but also losing their national sources of income from tourism , etc.
The Religion of Peace will do that to any country.
IMHO
No other country will be an ally if it is against their interest. If you think Kuwait is a soft ally, you have one heck of a definition of soft. The whole country is a major US base from which we are launching offensive wars.
Why anyone would want to live in Malaysia in these circumstances is beyond me..but there are publications promoting such bizarre notions.
This couple is very naive. Thankfully they are safe and will not be executed by sexuallly and psychologically castrated Muslims.
i used to frequent the chat forum of The New Straits Times (the singapore-based S.T.) and the animosity between citizens from both sides of the waterway was enough to slice a brick in two with a butter knife. singaporeans see malaysians as backwards jungle people. the arguments the malaysians had with the singaporeans was laughable. singaporeans see islam as the biggest obstacle, what keeps malaysia from advancing at the same level as singapore. i find that to be true, imo.
go to the northern states in west malaysia and you will hear the most insane stories in the news. bilboards promoting baby lotion - banned if a baby's bare bottom is shown. bilboards promoting women's products - the woman has to have her head concealed with a tudung (hijab). separate check-out counters for men and women in grocery or department stores. drive from the port in kuantan to one of the busy towns to go shopping, you will see absolutely little signs of the 20th century, save for a car or tv antenna atop a house. ethnic malays, bumiputras, are heavily subsidized with welfare in many of its garish forms. and the people really suffer for it.
i mean, yes, it's great when you can venture to a certain part of the world and see the simple life - but to see it because certain government entities see progress as an affront to islam and malay identity...well, that's what it's gone too far.
Considering living in Malaysia? Sheesh. I have come in contact with so many "well-travelled" naifs. It is hard to shake in them the complacency they have from living their lives in the US. They think they can move someplace exotic (and always with lots of cheap servants) and still have the protections of the US law enforcement. Let them get mugged, and they always expect the Marines to be sent to rescue them.
The guy sounds a lot like Frank...
Bacon bits make great confetti.
Babs is showing those off, I now know where her brains went when they slipped out of her head.
it is true...i believe the islamic laws DO NOT apply to them -it's written in their constitution, if not within the laws about khalwat. you need only LOOK malay or have someone rat on you (out of vengeance) and the religious police will be on your case faster than you can say 'prick'. but they (r.p.) have overstepped their bounds, very clearly, in this case. for all the crap that mahathir mohammed spouts on a regular basis, malaysia is like a puppy dog when it comes to americans and america. they love the US$ DOLLAR!!! there will be politicians who will take care of this matter swiftly and vigorously as they see dollar signs at the end of the road - a possible loss of PLENTY OF IT if they don't.
If we lose this WOT, the liberal women will be wearing burkas and
they will lose the rights to vote, go to school, drive a car, get a job...
Liberal Americans traveling overseas are very naive.
They believe that our constitution follows them...
Babs had a brain ?
Thanks.
