President Bush received a rousing welcome today in Indiana where he spoke on behalf of Representative Mike Sodrel. Later, W traveled to South Carolina where he spoke to the men and women serving at Charleston Air Force Base.
First Lady Laura Bush joined Representative Nancy Johnson at a campaign fundraiser in Farmington, Connecticut.
Enjoy your Weekend on Sanity Island
actually didn't say anything just shook his head in disgust and walked away..
I hope she didn't :)
He was ON today!
Do you mean the little khaki pants? LOL!
Lol! Okay, okay. Tell him I promise I'll do better ;)
Ah baby photos we need to save these for Wolfstar
This grandson went on to write an essay for the school paper in 2004 saying why George Bush should be elected. I was one proud grandmother!
Keep notes and start compiling a record of these times for your yet-to-be-born grandkids. It is important, because leftist historians will try to undermine the President's record.
alright i will...so whats the night life like in DC on the weekend...party city or what?
Thank you :)
FR is blessed with an abundance of good decent people. Compared to them, a troll is insignificant.
I think the shirt is GAP...notice the little teddy bear on the shirt pocket......I bought Brandon a shirt like that.
Consider that a blessing in disguise :)
Hmm...I wouldn't really know. I work all week and then do homework all weekend. Lol except for last weekend...
LOL....Good job Miss Marple...my Brandon knows the President, his wife, where they live, their pets, our flag and how to salute it, and now the VP...start them young
Since I was a math major I was able (with the help of a calulator) to determine that your grandson was 4 when he noticed that the name on TV and on your sign were the same.
Pretty dang smart, I'd say.
And approximate temp is?
It was a WONDERFUL day with my dad. I owe him so much. He got me involved in politic at an early age. Attended state conventions, pulled the lever for him in the voting booth, shared reading materials ...Raised a good conservative daughter.
We started early this morning, driving through the beautiful Hoosier countryside. I commented to him how surprised and proud I was to see SODREL sign in my neighbors yards. Many of the farmers in this area have been democrats for generations. But obviously Mike/W have gotten through to them with the death tax issue.
We arrive just before 10, the doors were to open then. There was already a long line out front waiting to get in. Young, old, truck drivers, farmer, people in three piece suits, blue jeans, etc. We didnt see ANY of the disruptors that were reported on the Louisville TV stations. Just GOOD folks.
Although we had tickets that would have gotten us closer to the stage, we would have had to stand up the entire time. Therefore, we chose to sit in the bleachers. Were originally in the front row, next to a lady pictured on the thread, but moved up a row and down a bit so dad could see better. A gentleman dads age (also an Army Air Corp Vet) Sat in front of us. They had a lot in common.
The crowd was pumped. We had our own flags, but flags and pom-pom were distributed. There were several speeches given by state candidates. Indiana is finally back in the black and on the RIGHT track fiscally. SSP sung, and prayers offered.
Finally we saw the caravan, pass by the outside door. W was in the building. One of Sodrels grand=daughters sang God Bless America For a little girl, she had a fantastic BIG voice . The other led the pledge and recited a poem about 10 steps to success. Would like to have a copy of that
Then Mike came out from behind the curtain. His work shirt sleeve rolled up. He immediately introduced our President. ROAR! You all can read the transcript. It was a great speech. What you cant hear is the crowds reaction to his comments. With almost every phrase the audience answered as if it was an ol time church tent rally. Lots of uhuu and yes, and other things youd hear the congregation utter in response to reaffirmation. Once a fellow in the back yelled out very loudly AMEN! W swallowed as if to not laugh. There was a lot of cheering etc. too.
People were so kind and considerate of each other. Gentlemen assisted dad up and down steps and to our car after the event. We met a couple at a restaurant after the event. She pretty well summed it up. We greeted each other like long lost friends when we saw each others sticker from the event. Wasnt it wonderful! All the joy! All the wonderful, nice people! Its just as I imagine Heaven will be!
Dad listen intently to every word!
The crowd goes crazy!
Ill add more pictures later
..Its taking forever to upload them to shutter fly.
It was the worst thing I've ever seen posted on FR. The worst thing I've ever seen, period.
:)
Great to see the Dose up and the President out among the people who welcome him, sj. Thanks. Boy, am I glad to be late to the thread and miss the dirty trolls.
