I don't believe they would have the votes necessary.

This would be the third rail for liberals!

They won't be close to being able to do that.

They'd be loading us into cattle cars for the re-education camp, if they had the power.

If they could override a president's veto, then they'd do it.

They may also attempt to impose it in some fashion as FCC policy under a democrat president, with no legislating necessary.

Heck, privatize the radio spectrum. Sell it off.

The Dims may or may not be able to pull that off. But, one thing conservatives always seem to do is underestimate the liberals.

A perfect example is the media. We have lots of names for them now:

The lame stream media

The dinosaur media

We even say their time of dominance is over. Yet, we have underestimated their influence once again. Yup, they may be losing profits, they may be cutting staff, but like a wounded animal, that is when they are most dangerous.

And now, this old, stiff, lame, verging on the edge of extinction media just might pull off what they have been working towards for five years: Putting Dims back in power. (I know, the congressional Pubbies have a lot to do with this but there are plenty of threads on that).

So, do not dismiss so lightly the possibility of them bringing back the fairness doctrine. This must be taken seriously and fought tooth and nail.

Never underestimate liberals!! (just look at my tagline)

Don't know if they have the votes. But, many of them have said that is their intent when they have been on Sean's radio show.

I am sure they would love to muzzle both the intener and the talk radio. But, they canot muzzle the internet. I really don't think they would the votes to do the same to the talk show hosts eihter.

They would have to win both the Senate and the House and have their fair haired boy/girl reside in the White House to do it.

Even then, they'd have to have a veto proof Senate. Never happen...

I will say though, I'm not convinced the right side of the isle wouldn't love to silence some of the conservative talk show hosts from time to time.

Sorry, I don't see it happening. Advertisers run the show not Congress. How would they sell time on a liberal show?

What's fair about the "fairness doctrine?"
