WASHINGTON - Black voters could decide whether Democrats or Republicans win control of the House of Representatives or the Senate on Nov. 7, and Democrats are working overtime to ensure that they turn out to vote.
But that may be harder this year than it traditionally has been, for several reasons.
Blacks are less loyal to the Democratic Party than in previous decades. Many are disillusioned with voting after feeling shut out in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. And the Republican Party is working aggressively to attract more black voters.

I think Black voters started to become suspicious when Bill Clinton claimed to be--- the "First Black President of the United States".
The Dems are in more trouble than they let on. I'd love to see their internal polls.
This is supposed to be automatic,HMMMMMMMMMMMM
The Republicans should have the middle class and more affluent vote along with those with two parent households who have some family values. That they don't have more of those votes is amazing given that the Republican party is rather colorblind to those who work hard, take care of their family and want to get ahead.
The dems can have the thugs, Baby Daddy/Mommy types, modern day Panthers and other losers who think that someone owes them something simply for being black.
Felt? I'd like to see some proof that registered voters were denied access to voting places.
Thirty percent of blacks said they were confident that their votes would be counted accurately this election, down from 47 percent in 2004.
On the other hand, the dems may end up shooting themselves in the foot. If the Big Lie they've been telling--that Black votes somehow aren't being counted--is now believed by 70% of Black voters, this could lead to their staying home in droves. What's the point of wasting time going to the polls if your vote isn't going to count?
Don't worry! Voter fraud is still alive and well in Detroit. The thing is that there doesn't have to be a lot of them voting, but just a few voting multiple times, along with all the dead people.
And as usually, they sit there and say that "it's the republicans who intimidate the voters". This year, the Dems want to put out people to watch the Republican poll challengers here in MI. It's going to get nasty on election day.
I think they should appoint James Webb as their official emissary to the black vote.
I especially thought it was ironic this week when Donna Brazile said blacks have gotten the idea that their votes will not be counted, and they are working hard to counter that mistaken impression. Now where would they get an idea like that???
What's the problem? Since when have blacks been known to vote for Conservative?
In many a majority Dem precinct you don't have to actually show up to have your ballot voted. Someone will vote it for you.
Buh-Bye
This article tries to mix apples and oranges. Stopping blacks from voting in Florida was an accusation the Dems made against the Republicans, and have repeatedly made in many other states.
So, why would that cause blacks to vote Republican? There's a small logic problem here.
No, the reason blacks may come over to the Republicans is that they are increasingly disillusioned with the Democrats, who promise them much and do very little. We use the phrase about keeping blacks on the Democrat plantation as a way of attacking the Democrats, but there's a good deal of truth in it. They want to keep blacks down, poor and dependent, and eventually that policy is bound to cause disillusionment.
You are so right.
Thirty percent of blacks said they were confident that their votes would be counted accurately this election, down from 47 percent in 2004.
Blacks feel this way for one reason: the Democrat leadership and the poverty pimps have told them it is so.
It bears no relationship to the facts. Not a single case of blacks being "denied access to voting places" has been presented. Yet, blacks "feel" that way.
Do they? Do they, really? Or do they know damn well who has been screwing them for forty years and this reporter is simply spouting the Democrat talking points?
But let a Republican administration put black people in positions of real power and all you will hear is how these people "sold out" because they accepted positions of real power rather then being tokens in some obscure post the Democrats would have given them.
