I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.
Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:
Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.
As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."
RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

Just can't get enough Savage bashing done on weekdays anymore?
You call it Savage bashing, I call it defending Conservatism.
When he no longer calls himself a Conservative, or stops making statements like "American's are Morons", no longer makes vile attacks on our Commmander in Chief during war, no longer attacks icons of Conservatism in America while hiding behind a phony name, then I will rest.
I listen to him and take him for what he is--an entertainer. But that post of yours is a Perfect mimic of his show!
You have to give Savage his due. According to this weekend's paper, he is the third most listened to radio show host, behind Limbaugh and Hannity and ahead of Dr. Laura.
Proving that, once again, no one ever went broke underestimating...blah...blah..
I give him 3 more years, depending on his health. ( I think he'll be 65 next spring)
Again, I think you take him waaaaay too personally.
bumped for Monday morning
First I've seen of this thread and have not read it
through, but no wonder Mark Levin refers to the
Savage Nation as Weiner Nation.
Another bump for Weiner.
Defending the GOP lock stop as most "conservative" hosts do is what people seem to like. That's why some conservatives hate Savage. It's not the donation to Brown, it's that he rips into Republicans and Bush when they deserve it.
Theres a lot more comin', and comin' to a Weiner thread near you.
Please ping me when you remember or hear him say these things....we are keeping a list.
"So you reckon I shouldn't comment about things I dislike?"
No, just things you know nothing about. You have to at least listen before you can dislike.
"You're a genius."
It usually takes a few more posts for people to realize this. Although yours was a rather quick assessment, I thank you for your conclusion, and I and most agree.
Uh.. no.
It's a guy talking on the radio who figures he knows a lot more than me.
Not my cup of tea. I find the assumption insulting.
According to you that makes me a dumb ass.
Late returning to the party, but lormand, it has to be said -- you are ELOQUENT on this thread!!
Thanks
Republicans are the most inarticulate group I have ever seen stand opposed to the liberal hordes.
I have never seen a more inarticulate horde running a country than I do now; and I voted for the republicans!
But I've never seen men who are unwilling, or unable to defend their positions as I do now; which is why the left is going in for the kill, why they're going for the throat.
The left senses blood. They're outright traitors. They're taking the side of the enemy. They're saying we provoked the terrorism in Iraq. They're not talking about 1993's attack on the world trade center. They're not talking about Islamo-fascist attacks across Europe, going back, as I said, 1000 years.
They've omitted history because they don't want to know their history; and those that do not know their history are condemned to repeat it. And I warn you the enemy within will bring this nation down as sure as I am standing here, just as the 5th columns of nations before us have achieved the same end.
I'm warning you that we're very close and that's because the republicans are not motivated. They're not motivated because they're being advised by idiots who tell them to keep their mouths shut and just go along because they have so much power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and the republicans, now, have fallen right into Lord Acton's statement.
They are absolutely corrupt because they have absolute power, and we need to inform them they're going to be thrown out in the mid-term elections. They're going to lose the presidency. They're going to become a minority party unless they start standing for borders, language, and culture.
Well, it has been Bush, Clinton, another Bush, and now possibly another Clinton. (God forbid)
And btw, Savage is far from being the only person who thinks that there is some sort of connection between the two. (not an alliance, but some type of connection) Perhaps more people should look into what reportedly took place in Mena, Arkansas, in the 80's, that involved both Clinton and Bush Sr.
I'll put on my flame suit now, as undoubtedly I will be tarred and feathered for even mentioning that. And *no*, I'm not a liberal.
