Michael Savage: Left-Winger
Copyright 2006 The American Spectator ^ | Friday, October 27, 2006 @ 8:36:18 PM | Posted By: Hunter Baker

I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.

Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:

Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.

As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."

RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

Instant gratification is for people high on crack, not American politics. Change is very slow.

Bush's "change" on immigration is not my idea of Conservatism. But you continue to have no response to that. Nice try, "Dude".

"Savage is one of a few subjects that will turn seemingly reasonable Freepers into DUmmies."

You are totally correct. There have been times when I have said semi-outrageous things on a thread just to "stir the pot" and pick a fight. Usually it's a flop when I do that. When I HAVE "stirred the pot" in the past it was usually not intended. I found in the past that:

No FReeper is allowed to question the conspiracy theorist behind the Oklahoma City bombing.
No FReeper is allowed to question the conspiracy theorist behind the crash of Flight 800.
No FReeper is allowed to question that society is going to totally break down on Y2K (I'm an old FReeper ya see)
No FReeper is allowed to say anything to question the campaigning wisdom of President Alan Keyes.
No FReeper is allowed to imply that the majority of child molesters are heterosexual and not homosexual.

One last thing: Harry Potter is just a harmless children's story folks. Chill out.

Cthulhu Saves.

If I lived in Mass, I would vote for Joe in this election, just to 1). tweak the Democrats and lefties, 2). because he supports the Democratization of Iraq

Orchestrated smear campaign? So Savage/Weiner didn't donate the maximum legal amount to the campaign of a known left-wing extremist?

Didn't you know? Saint Weiner EXPLAINED it. Why that's enough for me dammit!!! it's those damned globalists that are after our dear Dr. Weiner!!!

do I really need the sarcasm tag???

So an online reader comment at the American Spectator website is supposed to hold the same weight as a legitimate article or staff writer opinion piece?

I'm pretty sure that was a staff written opinion piece. Hunter Baker is an AS contributor.

I never thought in a million years that borders, language, and culture could be such a harmful idea to so called conservatives.

Lars Larson and Glenn Beck, just to name two, are perfectly capable of discussing "borders, language and culture" intelligently... unlike Savage.

Politically, one could easily mistake Michael Wiener Mike Savage for Rev. Fred Phelps.

Never really cared for Savage from the git-go. I originally thought it was the pointless bombast. Now I guess it was just the phoniness.

Idea of the Week: A Military Charter School
If ever there was a sign of changing times, this is it: Oakland, CA, Mayor Jerry Brown, with the support of Gov. Gray Davis and U.S. Sen. Diane Feinstein, has convinced the CA Board of Education to approve and partially fund a military charter school in his city, over the opposition of Bay Area anti-military activists.

"Brown had continued to hammer away at his presidential campaign themes of corporate greed and political corruption, as well as to pursue the New Age interests he'd cultivated as California's "Governor Moonbeam" from 1974 to 1982: biodynamic gardening, yoga and meditation classes, and discussions on ecologically sensitive urban planning. His weekly talk show on far-left Pacifica radio featured various countercultural critics denouncing global capitalists, American inequality, and the "propaganda system of the so-called free world."

"By the 1970s, the Panthers had become an important force in Oakland politics and the state Democratic Party. Panther Bobby Seale made a credible run for mayor in 1973, and Panther Elaine Brown got 40 percent of the vote for a city council seat in 1975, with the backing of Congressman Ron Dellums and organized labor. In 1976, Governor Jerry Brown appointed her as his delegate to the Democratic presidential convention."

Michael Savage isn't the only one to choose Brown over the conservative, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, And Planned Parenthood have endorsed him.
Other endorsements of Jerry Brown, against the conservative Chuck Poochigian .

Why do you think he brought that topic up out of left field?

Because it's one reason he doesn't like him, of course.

Sorry it got you so upset. Did I hit a nerve?

Savage is a narcissistic, self-aggrandizing, egoistic, disingenuous, liberal in conservative wrapping, moron. And I spotted this phony years ago.

Michael Savage does not appeal to reason or sanity, but instead to fear, anger and nostalgia for the good ol' days. His facts are frequently wrong and his conclusions are usually erroneous. He says just enough of the right things to keep angry, fearful listeners listening to him.

If you were to analyze the positions he's taken, you could reasonalby conclude that he's a leftist.
