Michael Savage: Left-Winger

I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.

Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:

Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.

As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."

RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

I've never claimed he's a stealth liberal... I'm irate that he pounds Sean/Rush/OReilly/Laura, Bush/Condi/Rummy, other GOPers more than he does the libs, and he's SUPPOSED to be on our side, as a "conservative".

Jerry Brown is an Independent. My eyes rolled when you tried to tar him with the donk brush.

You tied Brown to Hillary why? Just to fear monger?

I have listened to Savage's show about five to ten times. I stopped because Savage seems so filled with hate and rage. To put it simply, Savage's traits are completely at odds with traditional, moral, reason-based conservatism. There is no better proof than Rush that firmly defending your beliefs is better achieved with a professional demeanor and constructive arguments.

Once upon a time, there were so few "conservative talk radio" persons. Now there are so many more. The competition in talk radio is jaw-droppingly hot. I remember the onset of KSFO, talk radio in San Francisco. Those who came out swinging for pure-T conservatism were also the most hunted in the liberal mecca of San Francisco.

Michael got bumped from MSM TV for his "anti-gay" comments. And, he drives in each day to San Francisco, the pro-gay everything Mecca, to air his show. I've been able to catch his show periodically while I've been here.

He strikes me as going off on esoteric subjects as a means of avoiding speaking about what's really on his mind, and would likely get him canned. My two cents.

It's hard to knock someone when you agree with half of what they say, we would be far better off if more lefties were like Savage. But let there be no mistake, Savage is not a republican as evidenced by his donation to Moonbeam.

You're right on two counts -- I don't listen to his show much, and Savage certainly DOES go against the Liberal grain (I have listened to him, you know!) with regard to fighting Islamofacists, the use of torture (he's thrillingly eloquent, in fact! ;^), and the ACLU. Those are the times I find him listenable, indeed!

My point is that to pretend that advocating English-only, secure borders, and promoting American culture as opposed to "multiculturalism" is anti-Liberal, is just that -- pretending.

The "borders, language, culture" thing is pretty safe because it's something most liberals and conservatives candidly agree on. That liberals are most likely to vote in politicians who then advocate for the opposite in order to secure more votes for themselves, is "a whole 'nother talk show," to quote Wanda Mary Normile.

I really don't know whether Michael Savage is a good thing because he may help Liberal fringe lunatics find their way to conservatism by speaking to them in their language, or a bad thing because he spends such an inordinate amount of time (as does Laura Ingraham, another sadly overrated "conservative" talk show host) knocking fellow conservatives and gut-punching conservative morale.

One thing for certain: if he is advocating that conservatives just stay at home this Nov. 7, he's doing more harm than good.

Not liking Savage for whatever reason, and participating in an orchestrated smear campaign are two quite different things.

Orchestrated smear campaign? So Savage/Weiner didn't donate the maximum legal amount to the campaign of a known left-wing extremist?

Is he doing this? If so, it's in his best interest, IMHO, to knock that off.

I think the worse part of his presentation is the high volume of emotional rhetoric with a low amount of information supporting his talk. It comes across as "you would say the same thing if you knew what I know." He never gives you what he knows because he thinks he would lose us with the details. In the process, he loses more.

The author of this hit piece on Savage obviously doesn't listen to his show as I could not fathom where he comes off calling Savage a left-winger. Is Savage's contribution to Moonbeam because of his promotion of liberalism or something else?

As a devoted Savage listener and loyalist, I am dumbfounded with this Savage contribution. All I can guess is that Savage may be in some future trouble and will need friends in high places. He definitely can't count on any prominent fellow conservatives to help him out.

But you can't fake CONSERVATISM every day for 3 hours on the radio for 10 years. Of the legion of callers to his show I don't think I can ever remember where one has accused Savage of being a fake conservative.

Please.

Listen to yourself.

He's a guy who talks. Most people can talk, last I checked.

Surely you do not consider yourself so inferior that you
need to have your opinions made for you by this talker person.

How do you justify the support Bush is giving liberal Liberman?

In case it slipped your mind, we are in the fight of our lives.

As a nation at war with a dangerous and ruthless enemy, President Bush knows he needs support across the isle to defend America, and is fully aware of the difficulty of finding a democrat who 'gets it' from among the traitorous rats.

That explains it for me.

Sorry, I don't get your point, or should I daresay your 'talk'. Most people talk and say nothing, I hear it all the time and they are usually liberal.

My opinions come to me through my experiences and a wide range of sources, however Savage is one who best expresses my angst at the course of events taking place in this nation today.

Savage is not a politician, he's out there exposing himself to the nation for all to see, hear and challenge for 10 years. If you think he's fooling conservatives, well he's obviously fooling liberals too.
