Michael Savage: Left-Winger

I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.

Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:

Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.

As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."

RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

So if politician actually did something to help your community in a concrete way you would only admire him if he had a R in front of his name?

Lieberman lost his donk support for doing the right thing. Are republicans just as cynical and absurd?

Of course, "This Is Spinal Tap" was funny. Savage isn't.

It just doesn't make sense...

That's what Savage said himself. Why can't it be as simple as that?

While his anti-Republican diatribes and pessimism are bad, what's infinitely worse is his cry-baby martyr crap about how other conservatives ignore him because he dares to criticize the conservative status quo.

ah Yeah.. that is a problem for Michael.

Oh my.

Did you really think that made sense when you wrote it? I'm sorry, but your arguments are getting more ridiculous with every post. That's what happens when you defend the indefensible. Don't damage your own credibility for the sake of Savage.

Thank you for reminding people not to judge a book by it's cover.

Puhlease! Spinal tap is funny as a Parody, and surprisingly talented as a serious venture.

Wiener is neither!

I think there are more here on FR that recognize that he is and always has been, at best, an embarrassment and a liability to our side. Personally I go back and forth as to whether he is a fifth columnist or "just" a bombastic jerk.

Sorry, not buying it. In the San Francisco Bay Area, it's called "insurance money".

What? A donation to Brown would undo all his anti-gay coments over the years?

Do share those many things revealed about me ...

Sure, happy to oblige.

It reveals that you attach a lot more importance to whether or not a person is Jewish than do I, or the folks in my family, or most of the people I know, or most of the respected commentators I read or listen to.

It reveals that you tend to suspect an anti-semite behind every tree.

It reveals that you are easily offended and defensive.

It reveals that you would prefer to find a shallow motive behind FReepers' criticism of Michael Weiner/Savage.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, it reveals an amazing ability to be obtuse to the double-pun of "Weiner" prounced as either "whiner" or "weener" (as in the common colloquialism for a vital part of the male anatomy).

"I said this about a year ago. If you listen to Savage his leftism is on display in every show. He is what a true liberal is all about, obnoxious with the potential for militancy."

A true Liberal has no platform ideas. He or she just bad-mouths the opponent.
