Trafalgar Square will be hosting celebrations to mark the Muslim festival of Eid.
Live entertainment, a street bazaar and exhibitions and displays will feature at the free event which is taking place between 1300 and 1700 BST.
The event has been organised by the Muslim Council of Britain and the Mayor of London.
Eid marks the end of Ramadan - the month of fasting observed by millions of Muslims worldwide.
We have Red Ken and his Muzzie chums to thank for this - a bunch that I think should be sent to swim in the Thames wearing concrete bathing suits.
Loathe as I am to give anti-British ammunition to the crowd who swallowed Melanie Griffith's Londanistan whole, and who now, having ignored the real situation in the UK, worship at the altar of equally sensationalist journalists who build upon her scare-mongering, here it is.
If I don't post it, someone else will.
I'm guessing there won't be any strippers.
Riiigght.

i'm sure richard the lionheart would be proud. what a freaking joke.
We over here in the States have an "Eid" postage stamp.
PC madness.
I think you mean Melanie Phillips, unless Griffith is turning it into a movie ;) as we roll over and play dead.
I hear it will be a real blast.....
Really? I had no idea.
This pandering needs to stop, and soon.
Ragheads, Red Ken, the lot.
The mayor of London is a leftie.
Lefties love the proponents of head-chopping, slicing necks on made-for-tv videos accompanied by religious chanting for your family entertainment while they measure their baby for a suicide belt.
Enough of this catering to the ideology of separating Christian and Jewish heads from their necks.
Love, Ivan
My apologies for being a momentary moron.
The seventh of July,I believe.
That one was not much fun, either.
England is a wonderful country, but the Labour Party have been trying very hard since Churchill left office to drive it into the ground.
I was in England of a year in 1974-75. There were miners' strikes, train strikes, periods with no sugar on the market shelves, and a dismal economy that still had not entirely recovered from the War, almost 30 years later.
Then along came Maggie Thatcher, and straightened things out. But seemingly it couldn't last. The Conservative Party betrayed her and sold out, and since that happened there really have been no alternatives to Labour.
I have English cousins, and I love the country. I considered trying to get an academic job there, but I decided against, because I didn't see how I could ever support a family on English academic wages.
The dismal economy is one reason why Brits have had relatively few children, and have let themselves be displaced in some degree by immigrants and their large families, who don't have to worry about supporting themselves because the government will do it for them.
I suppose you can't have a great government unless the voters want it, but England certainly needs another Churchill or Thatcher. The country and the people are wonderful, but they need decent politicians, which they aren't getting.
Happy end of RAMADAMADINGDONG!!!!!! Now for Halloween Izlamomuzziethug style.
Featured events:
Goat "Riding" Contest (Children under 18 NOT permitted)
Seminar on Decapitation: Are you Doing it Correctly?
(followed by the wildly popular annual Head-Tossing contest);
"Uncovered meat" tasting booth;
Fashion Show: "New Strap-on Bomb Styles for '07"
And much, much more...
That's an interesting view, actually. I think there is a lot of truth in it. The British, in general, have no wish to be dependant on the dole and will take great pains to avoid it. As you say, many immigrants have no such qualms.

We now have far too many career politicians who bring little to no experience of life, industry or business. I am deeply disappointed by Cameron and his ilk, and that is from a gal who first joined the Conservative party when she was thirteen (and who grew up in the North East during the 70's!).
Joseph D'Maistre (I know, I know -- he was a freaking frog!)once correctly opined that
"People get the government they deserve."
Proves that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
The bloody Brits haven't been right for a long, long time and are headed for the scrap-heap of history along with the rest of white European culture (and American society if Bush doesn't stop with the "religion of peace" crap and wide-open borders)!
My hope is that I will be off the planet before that happens but I will not rest knowing that MY generation did so little to stem the tide. I plan to be cremated and scattered so that my grandkids won't be tempted to dig up my sorry ass to spit in my face.
I suggest you do the same.
