>Russia’s population, which stands at 142 million today, will drop to 52 million by 2080

I once discussed this
with Jude Wanniski [!] and he
said the crisis is

real, but didn't think
the issue was decadence,
but more related

to the loss of hope
and loss of pride brought on by
the modern, so-called

"free market reforms"
that have affected Russia
so dramatically

that their GDP
is almost unthinkable.
He didn't believe

this trend will hold up
into the future. Russians
I've known have been tough

and I don't believe
either that they will allow
their country to die.

One of the most telling things about the Russians and their bleak outlook is the way they treat the news about pregnancy. In the US and most other countries when a woman becomes prgnant there are congratulations and baby showers. In Russia the news of pregnancy gathers solemn reponses like "Hmmm, tough times ahead".

I feel for so called educated person such as Dawkins. But they have always been around to make the case aganist God. I can not imagine being a person who does that. He is to be pitied and prayed for something he would rage aganist but it makes me a better person to do so.....He is saying nothing that has not been said since the beginning of time with the serpent in the garden of Eden. He is just a modern day serpent.

I agree. As I have listened to people such a Dawkins and lets say Hitchins they always ask who created God or who created the Watch Maker. This seems so silly to me as God said he is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end. He also said "I AM' which is profound. It gives me chills. Also the word was with God from the beginning ie. Jesus.... It is so simple but for those whose humanity they can not over come their pride to admit they have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And the sin I am speaking of is denying God. Pride comes before the fall. So true always.

...all arguments about the existence or nonexistence of God often these things don’t even get off the launch pad because the two people debating can’t even agree on where the burden of proof rests. Does it rest with those who are trying to prove the existence of God or with does it rest with those who are trying to disprove the existence of God? But I suppose you know if I bring this on to Richard Dawkins’ turf and we talk about the theory of evolution…The theory of evolution explains how matter — which we are all made from — organized itself into for example highly complex beings like Richard Dawkins and Ryan Tubridy and other human beings but what it doesn’t explain just to give one example is how matter came into being in the first place. That, in scientific terms, is a question that cannot be answered and can only be answered, if it can be answered fully at all, by philosophers and theologians. But it certainly cannot be answered by science and the question of whether God exists or not cannot be answered fully by science either and a common mistake that people can believe is the scientist who speaks about evolution with all the authority of science can also speak about the existence of God with all the authority of science and of course he can’t. The scientist speaking about the existence of God is actually engaging in philosophy or theology but he certainly isn’t bringing to it the authority of science per se.

ZING!!!! Oh, I love this Quinn fellow.... :^) He leaves Dawkins very little wiggle room; all Dawkins can say is, "well scientists are working on the problem (e.g., the origin of matter) and by gum! we're gonna solve it!!! Someday!!! (It's always "someday.")

Thanks for posting this fascinating interview, SirLinksalot!

Quinn nailed Dawkins as a fundamentalist but it's too bad Dawkins isn't nimbler in live debate as Quinn's many other arguments are full of holes.

Dawkins: I’m not interested in free will

The "brilliant" one gets blown out of the water and this is his reply.

Hi edsheppa! Would you give some examples of the "holes" in Quinn's arguments?

There are no holes in Quinns argument. Absent free will, morality can not exist and Dawkins thesis that religion is evil becomes a joke.

This is a significant argument that Quinn touched upon, though not with the emphasis I would have like to have seen. Atheists such as Dawkins apparently have no problem with the concept of infinity as it relates to space or time, but postulate an infinite personality, and their pride is terribly offended.

Also interesting to see how much FAITH he has that science will answer the question of the origin of matter.
