Someone just asked me this afternoon if I thought Detroit would win, and of course I had to say no. Sorry Michigan!

Thank heavens.

Devil's Night would have been a real disappointment in Detroit this year if the Tigers had won -- since all the buildings in the city would have been burned to the ground already.

May this be a forerunner of the 2006 election. Red team from a red state vanquishes a blue team from a blue state (and from the bluest city in this country to boot).

Tonight's game was 4-2. The Cardinals won the series, 4 games to 1.

Tigers played it till the end though. I'm proud of my kitties for getting to the series. Congrats to the Cards, they played some good ball.

After the way they got creamed by the NL and had losing streaks that would make the Cubs jealous, this is a remarkable win, way to go Cards!

The Eck..... a banjo-hitting infielder gets his second championship (won with the Angels in 2002 also).

4 Games to 1, maybe. I thought Detroit was supposed to run away with it. That's what I get for only following NL teams.

4 games to 1

Game was 4-2 thanks to another Detroit pitcher who cannot field his position.

They've come a long way in two years, and have the foundation to be competitive for the future too.

Thats good. Hadn't thought of that. Maybe it is an omen. Detroit was certainly liberal with their errors!
