Before jumping into the "he writes homosexual, underage incest" bandwagon, shouldn't we be trying to find out if such a "greeting" was a rural Vietnamese custom that Webb might have actually witnessed in the 1960's?

Hey, Son! How was school today? Now come over here and let me s&*% on that d*&%.

On his website, he claims to have resigned over an issue related to reduced funding for the Navy.

When he resigned, I was on active duty at the time and I regretted his resignation. As I recall, the issue was backtracking from a previously stated goal of maintaining a 600 ship Navy.

"Hmm. Perhaps the vietnamese Republican Candidate in California would care to comment upon this "cite" about "vietnamese" cultures by Webb? He should. IMHO. It's a perfectly opening shot, IMHO."

Excellent point, wonder if anyone has asked him? Someone should!

Well, is it a customary greeting?

His stereotype of the Asian woman slicing and dicing bananas is a very old one,,from WWII I do believe. I remember hearing it 45 years ago.

In 1987 he became the first Naval Academy graduate in history to serve in the military and later be appointed Secretary of the Navy. He resigned as Naval Secretary in 1988 after refusing to agree to a reduction of the Navy's force structure during congressionally-mandated budget cutting.

From his website.

Banana splitting? Huh?

Wow, Washington radio is much different than most Houston talk radio. That was a Dem. lovefest.

Just a note on a pet peeve, I have never understood why when someone is not longer in a certain position why the media calls them "Mr. Secretary" or whatever. I don't even like the calling of ex-presidents "president Clinton" or whatever. It's not their job anymore.

That's just me, I also don't like putting any politicians name on any building, the fact Congress is in session more than 90 days a year, that we don't have a nationwide sales tax, that we allow kids born to illegals to automatically be US citizens, we allow others than those legally registered to vote for somebody to donate money to them, allow mosques in America, etc.

*Sigh* I'm sorry fellow Freepers, I seem to have issues. But one good thing going for me is that the thought of a father putting his sons penis in his mouth has never ever even for a millisecond crossed my mine. Actually, the male-male penis in mouth thing is nowhere on my list. But it does seem to have been on Mr. Webbs mind......

Hey, Son! How was school today? Now come over here and let me s&*% on that d*&%.

In the Middle East, the locals have pretty damn weird customs, don't they?

Let us have an actual Iraq War veteran witness such an act:

Let's have that same Iraq War veteran write an Iraq War novel 20 years later and describe exactly what he saw with his own eyes in regards to the conduct of the locals.

"As we burst into the house, we saw a 13 year old boy with his uncle on top of him ....."

Question: Does that make the soldier writing his novel based on what he actually witness in Iraq a purveyor of underage incest?

As the interview plays out, it seems that such conduct did occur in the Vietnamese countryside and, IMHO, it is not a wise course to label a highly decorated combat veteran as a ( fill in the pervert adjectives here ) for writing about what he saw with his own eyes in a combat zone.

It is standard etiquette to refer to someone by the highest title they have held, however long after the fact. This is why you see some people referred to in interviews as "Ambassador", etc., even when they have been retired for a long time.

This is a rule of protocol that goes back for generations, not a media invention.

Actually, he's on his third wife. It's his opponent, Senator Allen, who is on his second wife.

Thanks for the information but I insist that the practice be stopped, please handle that for me:)

Even if I wanted to, which I do not, I would not tangle with the combined empires of Emily Post and Miss Manners.

Frankly, manners and protocol are something we could use a lot more of, in this increasingly rude world.

"If he actually SAW that incident, his duty was not to write a novel, but to CALL THE POLICE!"

He still has a duty to call the police. He has stated now that he did see this happen.

Call the FBI
This needs to be investigated immediately. An investigation must be started NOW.

CALL THE FBI

[I don't know anything about writing books but I know something about human nature. In order to write you have to have an imagination and a person would have to have these images running through your mind.

So, are the people going to elect a person to this high office who has a sick and twisted mind?

My guess, Webb is going to try a 'ghost writer' defense.
