With less than two weeks left before the midterm elections, voters still have little idea what Democrats will do if they take control of Congress. Theyve showcased a few modest agenda items, like an increased minimum wage and more funding for higher education. Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.), the prospective Ways and Means Chairman, bristles at suggestions that hell use his gavel to raise taxes. But its a safe bet that he wont take action to extend the Bush tax cuts which means, sooner or later, voters can expect their taxes to rise if the Democrats are in charge.
Rep. Rangel has been clearer about his agenda for Social Security its an agenda of inaction. A nonpartisan group, For Our Grandchildren, recently asked members of Congress and candidates to sign a pledge committing to working to fix Social Securitys serious financial problems. The letter specifies that signing the pledge doesnt commit them to supporting any particular reform option, but simply demonstrates your commitment to secure Social Security for future generations. It insists that to reach bipartisan agreement, all options must be on the table.

SSFMK Ping!
Connecticut Republicans have the false impression voting for Lieberman will be good for our national security despite the fact that Lieberman endorses Democrats taking control of Congress, voted against the Secure Borders Act that will make it more difficult for terrorists to enter the country and is for "Guest Workers Program" which is tantamount to giving illegal immigrants amnesty. A vote for Lieberman is a vote for the Democrats.
I agree. Pretty d@mn scarey if the 'Rats get back into power. Luckily I have plenty-o-ammo, a clean water supply and lots of dry socks. ;)
We already have plenty of MS13 terrorists in Wisconsin. Saw one of their "tags" on a building in "Madistan" just this week.
Nobody seems to do a friggin' thing about them either and they have direct ties to Al Qaeda and are almost all illegals coming up from South America through Mexico and into the USA. *Rolleyes*

And, as usual, a round of applause for Carrie! :)
"Typical of the Democrats -- do anything to get elected and back into power, but never reveal their agenda." ~ ReleaseTheHounds
Who, other than a vacuous useful idiot, would vote for a pig in a poke?
DemocRATS reveal their contempt for the typical voter in that they think they can get away with selling snake oil to the majority of them as a cure for every ailment, real and imaginary.
Of course, it isn't as if they don't have plenty of evidence to be confident in their ability to sell it to at least 1/2 of America.
At least one of their allies in the media admited to Christopher Hitchens that they were helping them, even though he also admited to having a twinge of conscience about what he fears will happen if the terrorist's candidates do get elected with their help (which is "worth at least 15 points" per Evan Thomas:

Excerpt [end of radio interview Hugh Hewitt and Christopher Hitchens]
HH: ...Well then, in 30 seconds, if the Democratic Party returns to power in this country, you get thirty seconds now, what happens?
CH: I'll just tell you something a very senior person at a well-known network. I know this sounds a bit odd, but I just can't tell you who he is or which network. I don't have the right to do it. But you'll have to believe me, okay?
HH: Okay.
CH: He called me the other day. This is not a guy who's in any way a conservative, and said you know, we've known each other for a bit. He said you know, I'm beginning to think you must be right, because it really worries me what we're doing, when we are giving the other side the impression that all they need to do is hang on until the end of this administration. Do people know what they're doing when they're doing this? One doesn't have to make any allegation of disloyalty, but just...if it worries him, as it really does, I think it should worry other people, too, and it certainly worries me.
HH: It certainly should. Christopher Hitchens, as always, a pleasure.

By the way, Diana, if you are near your TV, Carrie's going to be on MSNBC twice in the 10AM hour this morning -- talking on unknown subjects.
See #7. It had to be a DemocRAT mentality who said with confidence, "Nobody ever went broke betting on the stupidity of the American people".
That was an H.L. Mencken quote. A Baltimore Sun columnist. Not sure of his liberal bias, but you could probably count on it. I note in an online biography that late in his career, he was regarded as a racist and anti-semite.
Mencken -I think you're right! Thanks. bttt
Sorry, I meant that for a public reply...
Here's another quote from Mencken that's perfect for the Democrats and Rangel in particular:
"The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots."
A great quote to keep for future reference. :) Thanks again.
What the big question should be is WHY? is America become MORE SOCIALIST (Now) with a Republican Congress and President?..
Because it "IS".. only a bit slower..
A BIG government republican is exactley a democrat, a Mole..
Wow. A vote for Pelosi is a vote for Islamic Nazi's.
I wonder what Barack Hussein Obama thinks.

Someone told me I should correct that quote in #9 and I hastily did, but I think I had it right the first time (paraphrased?). Excuse the ping.
