When NBC military affairs correspondent Jim Miklaszewski posed an ill-founded question to Donald Rumsfeld at a Pentagon press briefing today, the Secretary of Defense responded in, shall we say, animated fashion, leaving very little doubt as to where he stood on the matter.
The Mik apparently asserted that every time a security benchmark has been laid down, the Iraqis have failed to meet it.
You can view the Defense Secretary's muscular response - detailing Miklaszewski's myriad mistakes - here.
We're told that after some brief treatment on the sidelines, Jim is doing well and fully expects to play in tomorrow's game ;-)

"Jerkoff" Jim Miklaszewski Alert!
He does NOT suffer fools gladly. WTG Rummy!
unknown unknowns or known unknowns or known knowns
"Reports that say something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know,"
"We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know."
--Don Rumsfeld--
Jim Miklaszewski is just another run-of-the-mill liberal news mouse.
He almost can't help being a silly scumbag. He hears everybody else asking idiotic questions from the defeatist liberal template and he falls right into line. What - - he's going to do some homework and try to get a clue? I don't think so.
Rummy so reminds me of Henry Fonda. I'd love to see him in a black-and-white WWII movie.
every time a security benchmark has been laid down, the Iraqis have failed to meet it.
Rummy beat up Mickey so bad they had to give him his own segment on NBC news tonight to make a few snotty remarks about Rummy. Typical MSM backstabbing of someone not there to defend himself. Mikla-whatsis made himself look even more small and petty by doing this.
Jim Milseriki is embarrased Rummy just made his b***h BEND OVER JIM
I saw Mik on PMSNBC last night and almost blew a gasket as I heard him repeat it verbatim to Olberman's bobbling head.
That's all 90% of the American public are ever going to hear.
We would be much better off if the Iraqi government simply expelled all foreign press; or left a few with 'access' only under the same condiions they had under Saddam. It was good enough for CNN then, it's good enough for them now.
Hear hear. Your tag line is what I always think about. Let's unsheath the sword WWII style. Let people get reminded what is true nature of war, and how it was done in years past. If we showed that kind of will (ie, firebomb Damascus, or Tehran, for example, like we did Dresden), it would *all* end in a week. Only reason they are keeping this up is because they believe we're weak. Show them a reality they never thought possible, and have them stare a bit down that hell, and the leaders would change their minds. The rabble doesn't mind going to their deaths, but the leaders want to have someone left to rule.
Yes, we Americans do not have the will to kill. And thus more of us are killed. History shows who wins and who loses. I have the will to kill and yet the Love of the Lord is my strength. Psalm 144.
I will lay down my life for my brothers and sisters who love this country. It is more difficult to do so when we have so many losers among us. Yet, I will.

Thank you for your post.
The sanctuaries are a problem, but the bigger problem is that we've chosen to stand in the way of the various Iraqi factions who WANT to fight a civil war. In particular, the Shi'ites want to pay back the Sunnis for decades of abuse, and want to assert their dominance. Considering that the Sunnis are the ones doing all of the blowing up of Americans, we would do well to pull our forces back out of the way, guard oil facilities (to keep the crude flowing and thereby stymie OPEC), and let the Shi'ites subjugated the Sunni Arabs. We will, of course, protect the (Sunni) Kurds, who are up in their northern region and largely aloof from this fight.
Simplify the situation by letting the Shi'ites smash our sworn Sunni enemies. Shi'ite will fight Shi'ite soon enough. When they do, side with the Iraqi nationalist Shi'ites over the (far less numerous) pro-Iranian Shi'ites (like al Sadr).
That was great. I love the guy. He just bitch slaps those morons.
I think Rummy is Master Po of this administation LOL!
Grab that quarter out of his hand
Excellent! Bumping...
