I am not sure what is so offenseive about my post.

On the whole Vietnamese scene out of the book it appears that it COULD be a sociology as one poster pointed out. Before I call a veteran a pervert and someone that is demented I want to get the facts straight. Even if he is a democrat that I want to see defeated. I think that represents my faith well.

I have never read any of his books as several people here have. I think I mention that onje has too look at the context of these and the character.

If I was a reporter, the first thing I would do is ask the First Lady about this and get her reaction. Especially since she is a Librarian, school teacher , well read, and holds the White House Book Fair. I dont know her answer but people might be shocked if it is a tad different than most on here. It would be crude and improper for a reporter to ask the First Lady in public what she thinks of this writing. If they're interested in her opinion they can call her office and ask for a reaction. You need to work on your writing, improve your punctuation, and stop using so many capital letters. What does this statement mean anyway: "AGAIN PANDORAS BOX HERE Doesnt mean she is a perv."

I was not referring to freedom of the press or what does or doesn't belong in a library. You have completely changed the subject to make a point that has nothing to do with mine to you.

You mentioned that the things Webb had written about underage sex, bananas, et al, were not harmful to young teenagers.

As the parent of four, I strongly disagree. What he wrote was smut.

I may not want it censored, but to say it is no big deal for young people to read, as you have done, is frankly, disturbing........especially as a Catholic.

And the salient point is that this smut peddlar wants to be a U.S. Senator.
