Fox Responds To Limbaugh's Accusations
(CBS News) Responding to criticism by conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, actor Michael J. Fox defended his appearance in a political campaign ad, saying he wasn't acting or off his medication.
In fact, at the time he was over-medicated for his Parkinson's disease, Fox said in an exclusive interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric.
"The irony is that I was too medicated, I was dyskinesic," Fox told Couric. "Because the thing about, the thing about being symptomatic is that it's not comfortable. No one wants to be symptomatic; it's like being hit with a hammer."
His body visibly wracked by tremors, Fox appears in a political ad that prompted Limbaugh to speculate that Fox was "either off his medication or acting."
Fox told Couric, "At this point now, if I didn't take medication I wouldn't be able to speak."
He said that he appeared in the ad only to advance his cause, and that, "Disease is a non-partisan problem that requires a bi-partisan solution."
"You know what, I don't really care about politics," Fox said. "We want to appeal to voters to elect the people that are going to give us a margin, so we can't be vetoed again."

He does have Parkinson's. Can't argue with that. I guess he's right about everything else too.
No,
Two Freepers who think bad behavior has no excuse, party line or no.
Call me a lightweight again and I'll sit on you :)
Wow, he may be a homosexual too.
This entire exchange is really degrading to the lowest common denominator.
Agree with his politics or not, the guy has Parkinson's disease.
God forbid you should suffer from some fatal disease. Who knows what fun posters could have accusing you of every evil under the sun.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
MJF is and has been for some time a national spokesman for Parkinson's research. He has his own foundation for research. He speaks on the subject frequently. Do you honestly think he has been kept from learning that ESCs have yielded no good results and some very bad results? Do you think he has been kept in the dark about the 72 successes from ASC research? Do you think he lacks the motivation or the resources to find these things out. All I had to do was skim through a page or two of FR posts to learn it. Or listen to an hour of Rush Limbaugh this week. Or I could Google it up in a few microseconds. Parkinson's doesn't effect intelligence AFAIK.
Look...I don't really know you...but I am feeling frisky tonight.
If you mess with the bull...you're going to get the horns.
lol
Look,
that may be a threat to some,
but right now it sounds like an invite for dinner :)
Fox can just stuff his baloney in his left ear. He has admitted to not taking his medication in the past in order to "educate" us all. And wasn't the demonRAT party just ready to take advantage. Rush is right about this phony nonsense.
hey! Maybe the 'RATs can convince other sick people to stop taking THEIR medication in order to "educate" us all as to just how "mean" the republicans are! How about diabetics stop taking THEIR medication so we can see what a coma looks like- if republicans don't let them do research on pre-born babies. How about those with seizure disorders? Let's see what THEY look like too!
There is apparently nothing the 'RATs won't stoop to...
1. It makes Rush look bad, because he is (allegedly) wrong.
2. It makes the big drug companies look bad, because the medicine doesn't actually help him control his disease, it makes it less controlable.
Clinton's spin team must be in on this.
That was some really good acting wasn't it? Of course that show was about as far left as one could ever get.
LOL! We have such good people here on FR. I apologize for the remark. You people are the salt of the earth. I've been in such a foul mood all day. I was just to eager to unload on someone.
I just can't do it.
You're pics made me melt
;^)
Most of her viewers probably don't have the mental capacity to know where their polling place is. Our fortune.
That's the great thing about tape, you can edit and reshoot until you get exactly what you want. Now what's the excuse for the lies in his script?
I have no animosity to Michael Fox..
I have a problem with deception.
He knew he was over medicated and made the commercial any way. He did it for effect....That is problem 1.
Problem 2 is the content of the commercial is a lie...
Adult stem cell doesn't have a funding problem because it works.. They have plenty of investment money.
Embryonic stem cell needs federal funding because investors don't want to touch it because it is a flop.
The most recent information is highly suggestive that it causes tumors...
The constitution does not list funding any kind of research as being constitutionally allowable..
Government needs to get out of the research business entirely, just like it needs to get out of the arts, get out of the broadcasting business, running trains and funding the ACLU as well.
It turns out that over medication will cause those kind of extreme tremors (which FOX confessed to but was apparently not recognized as such).
Well I guess like the rest of us if Democrats get elected, sick.
Come on, Fox...if you're gonna' put yourself in the major leagues, you have to be able to play ball.
Why are you being sarcastic? Acutally I have been hearing that this is becoming more common. Women are donating their placenta for stem cells. A much better source that aborted fetuses, obviously.
