Don't let the flat top haircut fool you. Jon Tester is a much a liberal as Barney Frank.

A tour of liberal locales and encounters with left wing lunatics
Tonight Jon Tester was on the road, rolling into San Francisco to be the guest of honor at a fundraiser hosted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. While Tester was the toast of the town tonight, he was also joined by a certified sweetheart of the liberals - Barack Obama.
Its only fitting that Barack is shaking the money-tree for Jon they have lots in common. Both are friends of the liberal left, and thats where they get their marching orders.
Both are friends with radical-anti defense groups like Council for a Livable World who would like to see Montanas own Malmstrom AFB closed down.

Both are friends with extreme environmental groups like the League of Conservation Voters.

Tester on the Bush Tax Cuts, which if not renewed means an average family of 4 will face a tax increase of 48%.
Tester Called Tax Cuts Ridiculous
And Said He Would Not Support Extending The Presidents Tax Relief. Q: Just yesterday, President Bush urged extension of some of his tax cuts on dividends and capital gains. Im wondering if you support extending these cuts and also whether you support extending any other Bush tax cuts such as the estate tax and income tax rates?
TESTER: I would not support extending the tax breaks for the rich as President Bush on a couple of different reasons. First of all, if Im going to give tax breaks, Ill go back to what I just told you guys, the tax breaks are going to go to the middle class. The rich really dont need them. . . . The truth is that this countrys got one other thing were fighting a war, were doubling a national debt in five years and were having tax cuts. Cmon, if I ran my farm like that it would have been broke in the thirties. This is ridiculous.
(Democrat Senate Candidate Primary Debate, Helena, MT, May 4, 2006)
Jons on the road again and in the final days of his campaign he snubs Montana. Instead he chooses to be in San Francisco campaigning for cash with the same national liberals who have fought tax cuts for working families, thwarted border security bills, and have proposed fighting terrorist bombers like they were common street criminals. - Chuck Denowh, Executive Director, Montana Republican Party. Just a little bit more will put Conrad Burns over the top. Volunteer for his campaign or send him something, but pray for him and all of our candidates. Remember, we can fight the Democrats at the polls now or fight the terrorists on our streets later. The choice could not be clearer.
What has Tester said about Malmstrom AFB?
Has he said that he'd like to see it closed as well?
If he said that, the man has a definite political death wish.
What does NRA say about him? Locally?
I met Sen. Burns in Joplin years ago. He was at an NRA function with C. Heston and J. Talent.
I know Burns has made some errors of late, but don't we all? This election is one of the most important we've had in years...I don't see tossing Sen. Burns under the bus as a solution.
Unfortunately it would appear the politics of Montana is changing with the surge of new residents moving in from elsewhere. Montana is traditionally a Democratic state but the New Democratic party has left the traditional Montana Democrat behind in liberal dust. Montana is a red state but who knows how much longer that will last. However if yard signs and bumper stickers reflect a candidates measure of popularity, it would seem that Conrad Burns still has a slight edge so I can only hope that this is reflective of the voter feelings.
