Rush Limbaugh "Endorses" Tom Kean, Jr. For Senate (Rush Mocks RINO Tom Kean Alert)
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | 10/25/2006 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to talk to you for just a second about Republican Senate candidate Thomas Kean, Jr. in New Jersey. This is a brave man. This is a man who deserves your attention and your support. This is a man who in the midst of the war on terror and the war in Iraq, has demanded the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld.

That's so courageous!

I was so moved when I heard this demand from this Republican. It's not many Republicans that have this kind of courage and have these guts -- and he wasn't through there! He then demanded the resignation of Speaker of the House Denny Hastert and any of the Republican leadership -- just off the top.

This is courage!

This is political leadership that the Republican Party has long needed! This is the kind of foresight, this is the kind of vision, this is the kind of independence that the Republican Party needs: to join with others in making sure that the Republicans in power quit. Few Republicans have the kind of guts here being exhibited by Republican senatorial candidate Tom Kean, Jr. in New Jersey, but then he did something yesterday that really impressed me and really demonstrated his bravery and his encourage under fire. Without being asked, folks, he issued a statement denouncing me over "press reports" he had heard -- he had not heard me; he had heard press reports -- regarding my reaction to the Michael J. Fox ad.

He said, "There's no reason for this in our politics, and I don't subscribe to it," and he wanted no part of it, and then spent a lot of last night trying to get himself invited on television shows to announce his distance from me. This is the kind of man we need in the United States Senate! I rarely see this kind of backbone and courage! This is a man whose two feet are firmly planted in the air. He will end up wherever he needs to end up to protect himself, and that's what we need in American politics is more self interest, more politicians and senators on the Republican side who care about themselves than they care about issues or their party or anything else. This is true independence, ladies and gentlemen! People like Tom Kean, Jr., may hold the key to Republicans securing that valued independent or moderate vote!

Thomas Kean, Jr.!

I sent his staff a note last night, to which I've not gotten a reply. I said, "I can certainly understand the panicked, reactionary and opportunistic stance of politicians and their seizing on any chance to distance themselves from what they think is harmful to them, but I thought you might want to see what a actually said on my program as opposed to what's being reported. Here's a link to my website. In the meantime let me know if you'd like me to endorse either you or Senator Menendez in my efforts to help the Republicans hold the majority in the United States Senate, which is not something you seem to be interested in yourself," and that's what we need. We need Republicans in the Senate who don't care about whether Republicans run the place. We need Republicans in the Senate like Thomas Kean, Jr. who have no interest in the party or causes or issues. We need the selfish self-interest of Tom Kean, Jr -- and so today, ladies and gentlemen, I, Rush Limbaugh, officially and proudly endorse Thomas Kean, Jr. for Senate in New Jersey.

Two Democrats in New Jersey. Both gutless wonders. One of them is called a Republican. Rush Limbaugh just endorsed liberal Tom Kean, Jr. Ehhh, just kidding, folks!

Levin lit into him last night too. He was really brutal. Kean really shot himself in the foot on this one.

Kean will at least support some of the administration's initiatives. The Rat candidate will support zilch.

He'll caucus with the Republicans.
In the end, that is what counts for filibusters.
And in the end, it's filibusters that count for judges.
Because judges are the arbiters of all social policy in America, controlling the judiciary is paramount.
Everthing else is secondary, domestically, because through the judiciary, the bad that the left has done can be unwound.
Get the judges, and you have them for life.

So, Kean is saying what he has to say to get himself elected in a liberal state. He'll probably get elected...well, unless Rush's "endorsement" actually gets Republicans there so mad at Keane they don't turn out and vote for him. That's what Rush is up to here.

If they don't, and he goes down, an object lesson will have been taught. Do NOT mess with "The Doctor of Democracy".
If they do, and Kean is elected, he'll caucus with the GOP, which in the end is the most important thing.

Therefore, be of good cheer.

I can't blame Rush for this. In fact, I applaud him for it. If the choice is winning the New Jersey senate seat or having Rush Limbaugh in our corner, the equivalent of three or four New York Times, then give me Rush. In fact, take his pushover, 9/11 commission, publicity seeking, daddy and send him to the nursing home for old worthless politicians.

I saw him on Hannity and Colmes a couple of weeks ago and Sean made him look a little immature.
It was about Hassert.
I as I'm sure many of you knew as soon as I heard Rush say fox was acting that the opportunistic libs would seize upon it even though he followed it up rather well.
I'm sure Rush knew it too.

Smack, smack. The kisses of death.

This is the same phenomenon as Rush endorsing lefty journalists...... it kills their career.

In New Jersey this mock endorsement might actually help Kean. If The citizens in that very liberal state think Rush will be irked if Kean wins they will vote for him.

If it's as close as I have read then the gay marriage initiative that came out today will probably tilt it in Kean's favor.
I don't think much of him though.

Hey, if Rush wants to give the Libs these types of endorsements I'm all for it. LOL

I've tried to find one damn thing that screams Kean is better then Chafee. I've got nothing. Even in his interview with Hannity, while quick to bring up the border and denounce the Senate...he was weaselly with his words about the House plan.

I don't trust him. I don't like him. And I have a very strong suspicion he won't even be a "Collins" or a "Snowe" but just like the guy we're trying to torpedo in R.I.

I don't like DeWine, and I've stated no remorse from my end about his fate either way. But I've given up urging people to vote him down. It's their call and he's done one or two worthwhile things in his life I suppose...but I REFUSE to bend on Chafee and ANYONE that smells like Chafee we're better off without. In this cycle I see only ONE Senator like him and that is Kean.

So, my position is the following.

The only two Dems I'd prefer win are Nelson in Nebraska and Liberman. The only two Reps applying for a seat in the Senate I'll urge voters to dump are Chafee and kean. The rest I'll either refrain from calling for them to fail (DeWine primarily) or enthsiastically support...like Santorum, Talent..so on.

You want true conservative independance look no further than Tom Coburn. Now there's a man with conviction.

I am being neither facetious nor sarcastic with this comment.

I will vote for Kean because I want to hold the Senate, and I want to fight the democrat corruption. I sincerely ask all of you in NJ to do the same. Electing that leftist twit Menendez is insanity.

having said that, Tom Kean is an unimpressive pompous idiot. I can understand some effort to disassociate himself from the Administration in a liberal state. But Kean takes it to the point of offending republicans. He is inarticulate - and he is too stupid to keep the focus on Menendez and corruption. Hell, in a state upset by Corzine's tax increases, Kean isn't even talking taxes. He is an idiot.

I heard the whole Rush show today and he was absolutely ON FIRE!! It was great.

Rush said, "Kean has his feet planted firmly in the air." Rush also said, sarcastically, that Kean is "exactly what the Senate Republicans need - - another Lincoln Chafee." Kean has been running from the liberal press like a scared bunny rabbit, and Rush made it clear that the Senate will be better off without another surrender-monkey Republican in its chamber, no matter what the party.

I'll tell you what, I can only imagine how many New Jersey Republicans who were thinking about holding their noses and voting for Kean arrived at a different decision today after hearing Rush. Hats off to Rush Limbaugh!

I grow weary of the parade of RINOs (like giuliani and mccain) being pushed down our throats by weak-minded dolts and the left-wing media.

I grow weary of the gaggle of RINO goofballs put across the table from virulently liberal dmonRATS on left-wing talk shows, supposedly, to provide "balance".

I grow weary of RINOs on so-called commissions, like kean's dad on the 911 Commission.

I grow weary of baby RINOs, like kean the younger, running for office.

F**K THEM ALL.
