On the eve of her expected reelection victory, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton met with the editorial board of The Jewish Press.
The former first lady (and current front-runner in opinion polls for the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential nomination) spoke at length about Israel, the ongoing war in Iraq, and the war on terror. Following are highlights of the discussion:
The Jewish Press: Israel recently concluded its war against Hizbullah in what many consider to be a stalemated position. How do you see things right now?
Sen. Clinton: First, I don't think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake. If we were going to push for an election, we should have made sure we did something to determine who was going to win instead of signing off on an electoral system that advantaged Hamas.

Spoken like a true Democrat.
Nothing like advocating for free and open elections?
Spoken like a true autocrat.
Spencer ought to use this in every ad from here on out!
I thought she would only come back out on October 31st. I was going to sell the hag a new broom.
I don't think our strategy is working. Six years ago, North Korea and Iran were not as close as they are today to having nuclear weapons.
Yeah, if we'd only stuck with the Clinton/Carter bribery program, Kim Jong Il wouldn't have kept his boys working on the bomb. Sure.
Our hero.......
Is Eli Chomsky any relation to Noam?
Unfortunately, John Spencer has almost no money.
He is an excellent real Conservative candidate who is broke.
It is regrettable that the GOP has not done anything to help him.
Eli Chomsky is Noam Chomsky's younger brother.
The man in the photo on the article is wearing a yarmulka. The Jewish Press is a very conservative newspaper.
My guess is that the brothers Chomsky don't agree on much.
So sort of like the Mannings.
Sorry, armed terrorist groups have no business in "free and open elections". That was recognized in the Oslo accords, which the Bush administration pressured Isreal to ignore, on the theory that Hamas, a designated terrorist group, candidates were businessmen, not terrorists. She's right on this one, it was a foolish move, and set the stage for the political anarchy in the territories today. Of course the alternative, Fatah, are a bunch of terrorists too.
She's close but wrong on the intelligence issue, Israeli intelligence was in error, it was their war.
She's right about the peacekeepers, they're not up to the job. In fact they refuse to do the job, as does the Lebanese army.
Syria, who knows.
I supported the war, but the Republican's ran it wrong. That's absolutely the strongest Democratic position, fortunately most of the party can't see that.
Change what we're doing, don't cut and run, at least don't call it that.
I wouldn't believe a word coming out of her mouth, but all and all she's getting the political points down pretty well.
Hillary is not to be underestimated.

Totally agree about not underestimating Hillary. She is dangerous, desperate, and devious.
NO articles or news stories that include the word "Hillary" will be seen that doesn't include words to the effect that "2008 Presidential election" when appearing in the lamestream media.
It's been happening since 2000, but now is 100% all-Hildabeast for Prez, 100% of the time....
Unless she tells me she bakes cookies for the children of Africa, I won't be able to vote for her.
no matter what she says.. the 2 things that always come to mind when hillary is in juxtaposition with Israel....
1) who was the fat bee-itch kissing suha arafat after suha stated the Israelis were poisoning the pali children???
2) who scream f'n jew bastard and has denied it over and over???
yeah...she is a true friend or Israel!!!!!
My real desire is to take the Hillary lawn signs and attach them....just below the witch.
