Angry Conservatives Coming Home (FReeper Classic)
NRO Corner ^ | 10/25/06 | Anonymous FReeper

From a reader:

Jonah, Over on Freerepublic, I've been one of the people who consistently has been chanting for abandoning the Republicans. The fact of the matter is a republican in congress has a lot more in common with a democrat in congress than either of them has with me and the other folks who only get to spend their own money. The contempt they hold for your average American slips out from time to time and it's always disheartening. So come election time, it seems the only tool I have to get them to listen to me is to threaten to withhold my vote and potentially move the scope of all political discourse further to the right. But when the moment arrives, I'm going to hold my nose and vote for the republican lying weasel instead of handing a victory to the democratic lying weasel.

I mean I'm angry... but I'm not an idiot.

Withhold your vote from the Republican lying weasel in the primary; not now. The Democrats will surrender to the Islamofascists if they gain control of the government; we will lose this war. It really is that simple.

I was at the Cincinnati rally for GWB on Halloween night before the election and I was overwhelmed by the spirt and the deceny of the people there and I knew he would win.

I'm glad you are reconsidering your vote because to put the Dumbocrats in power again is no answer to your dissatisfaction with your local politicians. I am convinced that these creeps do not have America's best interests at heart. Especially if you have children and grandchildren, that's a very scary thought, bedcause they are going to pay the price!

"They call you names even shame you for speaking your mind".

Funny, I've heard they do that in some families too. :)

Well, I feel similarly the same way except I'm vying instead for an honest libertarian...I've had enough of both lying Republicans and Democrats although I have to admit that the Democrats are significantly worse!

Evidently you don't feel the same way or you would not vote for a libertarian, by all means vote for a libertarian and put the "significatly worse" demwit into office when the vote is split.

I VOTED FOR PEROT AND ELECTED THE CLINTONS DOING THAT!!!!

And have hated my guts for it ever since.

Yes Send those stupid Republicans a lesson. This year the media has done more than it has ever done before to elect Democrats. If that happens Republicans and Democrats will draw the conclusion that the only way to win is to please the media. Both parties will move left.

The media has planned to discourage all the conservatives it can so they don't vote or vote for libertarians. Many conservatives will do exactly what the media wants proving to both parties that the media can control how enough voters vote to control the outcome of elections.

So if the Democrats win the election, both parties will move to the left. The primary reason most elected Republicans are doing the leftist thing is they are convinced that the only way to win is to try to please the media. So they are trying to please the media.

What would blow both elected officials and the media out of the water would be a Republican victory. That would prove that the voters control who gets elected. Both parties would move to the right. Everyone knows that elected Democrats are to the left of the Democratic party base. But they, like the Republicans, believe that the only people they must please are those in the media. But if Democrats lose it will change both Republican and Democratic minds about the power of the media. They will try to align themselves with the Democratic base which is currently more conservative than elected Democrats. The media's influence will be greatly reduced.

But it is quite likely that enough conservatives will do all they can to prove that the media is in control. The main stream media thinks that conservatives are dumb and easily lead to do counter productive things to their cause. Perhaps they are right.

The mere thought of putting Dims in office is morbidly treasonous in its own right and for the sake of all who love this country, must be stopped dead in its tracks.
------
Yep, the sad part is that some of the Repubs (RINOs) have found the fast track to the quick buck and political power is through liberalistic actions. Spending, socially liberal crap (open borders), the giving away of our soverignty, etc. All of these things have been bait to weak Repubs who really have no business being in office where they only serve themselves, like liberals. The Repub party of old (Reagan+Goldwater), myself included, are finished unless a uniform return to conservatism and staunch protection of the Constitutional rights, is to occur.

If not, we will all be on top (or under) a huge socialist/Marxist dung heap....

My point exactly.

We've lost our very identity--and that is exactly what our country needs right now.

Not more Marxist-Leninist and Socialist bull put up by Libs and RINOs--heck, that's the LAST thing a free society needs...

Yeah. Then it would no longer be a FREE society -- the wet-dream of the socialists.

--We're all angry..it's that time of the year.---
I was angry, but Bush is signing the border fence bill this week. So now I'm cool. I've got 4 Republican signs on my lawn.
My anger management classes are helping.
I use 12 year old Johnny Walker Black, neat...just sip it...and sip it...no more anger

hmmmmmm

I like the Libertarian philosophy too. However, we need to vote for candidates that are electable. A RINO is better than a RAT. At least the RINO is a place holder. This is very important when it comes to committee assignments. Here in NM, we have a mix of all three. Pearce, a true conservative, Wilson, a RINO and Udall, a RAT whackjob. Wilson is my candidate. The alternative is Patricia Madrid, a Pelosi look-alike.

I'll hold my nose when I go to vote, but I won't be doing it out of any kind of spirit of enthusiasm - more out of fear of what the other side would do should they regain power.

I saw your tagline and meant to comment on it but forgot. I was too busy misspelling words.

Have to confess tho that I did vote against Arlen Spector in the primary but held my nose too at the election.

I have two sons in Ohio and lived in Cleveland back when Kuchinich looked 13 and debated George Forbes--a night that will live in infamy.
