Conservative talk show host accuses actor of faking Parkinson's disease
Updated: 42 minutes ago
Possibly worse than making fun of someone's disability is saying that it's imaginary. That is not to mock someone's body, but to challenge a person's guts, integrity, sanity.
To Rush Limbaugh on Monday, Michael J. Fox looked like a faker. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, has done a series of political ads supporting candidates who favor stem cell research, including Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin, who is running against Republican Michael Steele for the Senate seat being vacated by Paul Sarbanes.
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."

"mischaracterization"? Why are people afraid to call it what it is.....a blantant lie, call it slander.
spell check didn't help me on that one.
I really need to wake up before posting.
M J Fox became an American citizen recently...
Canada's gain and America's loss.
This looks to me like another door opened right into their noses.
Damn I can`t stand that effin` idiot. I don`t know how Curtis Sliwa can take that dude everyday, he is just the most patronizing condecending self absorbed a-hole I`ve ever heard in my life, just the typical liberal personality. I remember one time this lady called up that show and was asking Curtis a question when Ron butted in and this woman just laid right into him, "Ron why don`t just shut the hell up for once! God I can`t stand you!" and of course he went right into that annoying cackling phony laugh of his.
It's worse form to lie outright about your political opponents.
Out, out, damned troll!
Poor Curtis recently had a complete meltdown at Kuby over Israel. Then weirdly Curtis disappeared for about a week while listeners were left with the horrible Kuby and assorted co-hosts. I thought it should have been the Israel/America-hating, Lynn Stewart-loving Kuby forced on vacation.
Freep the poll on the page
The only thing about this, of which I AM certain, is that embryonic stem cells have had NO successes at all. In some cases have caused tumors and other serious issues.
Exactly!
So let me ask you: do you think Fox overmedicated himself to appear in the ad? And wouldn't that be a dangerous thing to do?
Calmly, dispassionately.
I disagree. Those that you are referring to will never be swayed in any case so it's not worth considering what they think - it's irrelevant and certainly not a reason to change one's viewpoint. What you are arguing is like the "what will the Arab street" Paul Krugman type line of thinking. It doesn't matter.
Clearly the medication can be used to mitigate the tremors. Adjustments can bring varying degrees of symptons.
sigh.....the real issue is that the Missouri proposal is all about cloning, which is being ignored.
People have a right to correct information before voting. The dems don't want anything resembling the truth out there.
This little MF toad has CHOSEN to insinuate himself into the political arena thus making himself fair game for analysis and criticism.
On top of that he LIED in the political ad. Is this supposed to be overlooked because everyone is supposed to pity him?
Now this girly-coward is acting all offended and shocked that someone had the temerity to expose his flim-flam and to point out his feet of clay.
I will say one thing, his commercial is enough to give Freddie the creeps......and I don't think the American public is receptive for a new trend in which disease ravages will be graphically illustrated on TV at the dinner hour for shock value and political purposes.
