Google has registered a political action committee with the US Federal Election Commission...
apparently were now going to see the bizarre leftist philosophy so evident at Google News extended into the political meat world:
Google becomes a political player.
Google has an impressive list of players on its team. As well as counting Al Gore among its senior advisers, Googles Washington office was set up about a year and a half ago by Alan Davidson. A well-known Democrat sympathiser, he served for eight years as associate director of the Centre for Democracy and Technology, a thinktank that opposes government and industry control of the web.
Alongside him is Robert Boorstin, a former Clinton foreign policy aide from the Centre for American Progress, as Googles communications chief in the capital.
Googles PAC will be run by a five-person board of directors who will be guided by the recommendations of an advisory committee made up of Google employees. It will raise its funds through voluntary donations from staff.
But judging from the fact that in the past Google employees have been involved with leftwing groups such as MoveOn.org, it will be very interesting to see where that cash is headed.

How disgusting. They are everywhere.
More rich liberal money for Air America and other worthless crap.
BTTT
Chris Bowers ?
It will be interesting to see what agenda this PAC pursues. However, IMHO most company PACs pursue legislation related to the health of the company, and are usually fairly non-partisan. For example, the company for which I work has a PAC and they support both Democraps and Republicans that will support legislation that the PAC deems favorable to the company's prospects.
Washington movers and shakers to Google's DC office, has observers painting the company as a possible kingmaker.
not just google bombing...
Whatever happened to Campaign Finance Reform??? LOL
8-)
Let 'em.
We just need to waych for violations of the law.
waych = watch
Google is today what AOL was in the 90's. So take heart, like AOL, they won't last.
I guess the Democrats could use more money to tell voters how the Republican Party is the party of big business. It's too bad that irony supplements aren't good for you.
Can I call you on that in ten years? Google has a different market than AOL; AOL was a service provider for dial-up. It was just a matter of time before dial-up went extinct, and AOL did not diversify into broadband (they just "piggybacked" other broadband suppliers, charging $5 a month extra for their software). Google, on the other hand, has something that probably won't go extinct: a search engine. Theirs is the dominant search engine, and I don't see that changing. In addition, Google is branching out. Some of those branches are probably dead ends, but many of them are and will be successful. Google is here to stay, like it or not.
Okay, computer experts; tell me which OTHER search engines will get me off the googling as my primary means of finding things?
Haven't these jackasses heard of MoveOn.org? Talk about reinventing the freakin' wheel...
I'm partial to Ms. Dewey, myself. But then, I have a thing for hot and sassy girlies.
