This is CNN

A new Hollywood movie about the battle of Iwo Jima opened last week right about the time CNN began airing footage it obtained from terrorists showing U.S. soldiers being killed with sniper fire. It is a fitting contrast. The movie tells the story of the three surviving GIs who were immortalized on film raising the flag over Mt. Suribachi. The CNN tape shows the exact opposite: Instead of heroism, we see unsuspecting American soldiers being dropped one by one. No flag raising, no glory; just another dead U.S. soldier. Of course the Mt. Suribachi photograph is a distortion.

...snip...

Which brings us to Sen. John Kerry's defense of CNN's decision to air the terrorist footage: "As painful as the images of war are, it's important to understand what soldiers go through." If there had been a CNN equivalent in 1945, would it have been important to air footage of Japanese machine guns mowing down GIs as they waded ashore?

The CNN vid story is getting more and more press. I haven't turned them on since the airing of this video. I hope their ratings plunge. They ARE supporting the enemy; their goal is to help the terrorists win the War In Iraq and the overall WOT.

Boycott CNN and their advertiser and let them all know you are doing it. CNN must pay an economic price.

I haven't turned them on since the airing of this video.

I haven't turned them on since the first Gulf Conflict. They lost me years ago with Arnett's "baby milk factory" debacle. If it weren't for FR, I wouldn't have known about Wolf's "so poor and so black" comments during the Katrina aftermath.

"The CNN vid story is getting more and more press."

The story I'd like to see getting more press is the account of Ted The Red Kennedy offering to help the Soviets defeat Ronald Reagan's re-election. Rush had a segment on that yesterday, but every conservative media outlet needs to jump on this blatant cover-up of proof that liberals in this country were working against our government during the Reagan years.

I'm confused as to why Michael Savage said the film (Flags of our Fathers) was a left leaning film. Thoughts?

I'm confused as to why Michael Savage said the film (Flags of our Fathers) was a left leaning film.

IIRC, Savage said that it was left-leaning because it portrayed the less-than-honorable end of one of the flag-raisers, an American Indian who fell into alcoholism, as somehow the fault of the U.S. government.

I have not seen the film, so all I can comment on is what I heard from Savage last night.

I would be very surprised and considering cnn's past history of anti-americanism,some revenge killings of people in the media might take place. Our troops in Iraq and elsewhere have to be angry that cnn was involved in the killing of an American soldier! With the liberal medias drive to quote high body count numbers one can only wonder how many other soldiers have died because of them?!

I understand that CNN is still embedded with the troops. I know for a fact, that several Generals have made statements regarding their dislike of CNN, in particular. What Anderson and that creep (forget his name) who worked with the "insurgents" to get the tape did was disgraceful. They should be fired, but CNN is in the pocket of the enemy, they are not only quietly rooting for them to win, with the showing of this video, they have now taken sides....and they are NOT with america.

"I haven't turned them on since the first Gulf Conflict"

Same here, and for same reasons. When CNN used Robert McNamara as 'an expert' on carrying out a war and that 100,000 body bags may not be enough to bring dead Americans home, THAT was the last time I had CNN on in my house. If anyone knows how NOT to carry on or win a war, it's Robert McNamara!

Glenn Beck in on there and I like his show. I really going to miss it when I stop watching it. CNN is off my Dish Network menu again.

I would hope that the FCC would take away the license of CNN to broadcast. Let CNN broadcast to the communists, socialists, Islamofacists and others of their ilk in countries other than the USA! Their steady drumbeat of anti-American propaganda is getting old (except to Sen. Kennedy and Sen. Kerry), but the rest of us do not need it. Get CNN off the air!

BOYCOTT CNN AND ITS ADVERTISERS!

Thanks for the advise, just wish all conservatives would follow it.
I turned them off when Fox News became available in my neighborhood.

"CNWho? They still on the air?"

Weren't they the spineless journalists who refused to report or portray massive evidence Saddam's brutality out of sheer fear of the regime?

The scary part is that all it will take to send things completely out of control is one CNN reporter getting shot by a pi$$ed-off American soldier.

CNN won't be able to help themselves. They'll show that footage over and over. They'll let other networks show it over and over.

Ever wonder why companies pay millions of dollars for television advertising and product placement in movies and TV shows? Because it works.

When did school shootings become a fad in the 1990s? After Leonardo DiCaprio did it in The Basketball Diaries.

What would be the effect of showing that footage a few hundred times? Who'd pull the trigger next?

And CNN and the rest of the networks would show THAT shooting.

And then it will become fashionable to shoot ANY fricking journalist in Baghdad.

If you have family in the Military the Armed Services Committees need to hear that you want CNN's embed privileges removed.

House

Senate

From what I am hearing and, I don't know from what corner it is coming from is, that there are no black soldiers in the movie.
I'm sure there will be more controversy as time passes.
