Only 25 percent of the American people according to the latest Newsweek poll are now "optimistic" about the direction of the war in Iraq; 65 percent are "pessimistic."
Why have so many Americans, only now, come to realize that this war has gone bad...?

The Battle of the Bulge was rough too. But the Army recovered, crossed the Rhine and won the war. Of course in those days Tim Russert and Pinch Sulzberger weren't born. Their fathers were winning the freedom to allow their sons to be pampered, psuedo-intellectual, anti-Americans.Well noted. In those days, too, even the likes of John LeBoutillier would not have spouted rot in the midst of a murderous war against our nation, ourselves and our families.

My thinking exactly. I think the biggest problem with the American people is that they really don't pay attention to what's going on in the world, except for whatever affects them personally at that moment. So, they are easy prey for the media. You are right. But the sad thing is, most of these people who are such easy prey for media blitzes about the "disaster" in Iraq, aren't even affected one way or the other by what's happening in Iraq, personally or otherwise. To most of the people throwing up their hands, Iraq is basically just an unpleasant TV show they want cancelled. It's not affecting them personally, yet they whine and whine about it as if it is. That's what's galling.

Then we would be left with Americans on trial for murder 24/7 in first the world courts, and then the Federal Courts.
At least the MSM won't be focused on a daily body count of Americans.

Brilliant! Fight terrorism by giving up! Fight terrorism by cowering in a corner and pretending it isn't a reality! Fight Terrorism like the French did in their country- by appeasing the terrorists! Why, it worked so well that the French now face a permanent jihad against htem that will not end until Islam is the official religion in France! Everyone knows that the best way to fight rats is to give them viagra. I'm surprised at newsmax for caving in to media chicken little propoganda.

Lol, good point- Yes, and why can't we cut and run from L.A and New Orleans, and Dade county Florida and Massachussettes, and Rhode Island lol. I think you're on to something- we just have to convince the liberal press that all these cities and states are hopelessly mired in ruin.

AQ is in Iraq now. They have said, in writing, that Iraq is the main front in the war against us. These are the same people who attacked us on 9/11 and killed nearly 3,000 of our citizens on our own soil. How can we leave Iraq and allow AQ to remain? This makes no sense. I wish the administration and the Reps would say this when asked about leaving. Iraq is part and parcel of the WOT.

23 years ago today: BEIRUT Marines killed
What makes pundits think we can ignore terrorism for 20 years and then fix it in three? I have held my breath that the other powers in the region have stayed out. We would really have had a mess if Iran and Syria attacked. So there are still some pesky terrorists. What a surprise! sarc/

There is something about John LeBoutillier that doesn't ring true. I don't trust this guy. I like him less than Joe Scarborough and John McCain. In my opinion He's is truely a Republican in name only.

Just wait until the next "gun control" campaign starts with the MSM. You will hear about a murder with a gun everyday, 24/7 and just how bad these liberal controlled cities really are. Baghdad won't pale in comparison.
Then we can all pull out of all US cities.

I think part of that is they want to be on the winning side, ie, Iraq is a lost cause (the media says so) so they will parrot that.

I agree- We've ignored terrorists for decades and what happened? We got hit peicemeal time and time again. Liberals would rather die in groups of 1000's every couple of years (or perhaps months as the terrorists would see us as cowards for not retaliating) then to do what needs to be done by confronting them now. They expect a three month victory, and whine about the fact that fighting a worldwide faction hidden amoung civilians is taking a long time. I can't wait for a democrat controlled congress and presidency- I've been itching to try on Sharia law for size, and I've been fauning for brutality on a massive scale in this country. (sarcasm)

How many times did Bush use his veto pen?

I am thinking that Murtha is the liberal version of LeBoutillier -- in my opinion if he had spent more time campaigning in his own district in '82, he might have held his seat.

So what are you doing about it?
no flame intended
Ya gotta talk to people, I like to print out articles and leave them laying around at work or where ever.
