Yes, invasion by Mexico, whose government (because of its corruption, incompetence, and Marxist-tinged economic policies) has millions of its people living in abject poverty. So Mexican authorities have a solution. Not a logical, low-tax, private sector plan that would attract more and better jobs so that a rising tide could lift all boats. No way. That would go against the holy grail of class hatred.
Mexico's solution is simple. Get rid of as many of its poor people as possible. Encourage them illegally to crash the U.S. border and earn wages off the free enterprise system that is so despised in the Mexican paradise. That way, they can send some of that evil free enterprise money back home to the tune of $17 billion a year to keep Mexico's failed economy on life support.
All of this at the expense of American citizens and legal U.S. immigrant residents. Make them pay, both as taxpayers and as workers forced to compete with low wages paid the invaders who have no legal right to be in the United States in the first place.
Arizona's 8th District is politically divided. But the voters there should be ripe for a conservative who wants to represent them in the battle against illegal immigration. They have that opportunity in the November 7 election in the person of Republican Randy Graf. He has a sterling record as a state legislator. He enjoys the support of solid conservatives who know him and are tired of being told they don't know what's good for them on the values issues.
Graf's problem is that on one front, he is fighting the liberal Democrats and their smear machine, and at the same time he is forced to fight a rear guard defense against a back-stabbing operation by a RINO (Republican in name only) member of his own party. But Graf's own record is his most valuable battleground.
Supports border security
Randy Graf, as a state representative, was the very first elected official to support the Minutemen the citizens group that is doing what the U.S. government should be doing to protect our borders. Now the Minutemen are supporting him. Their leader Chris Simcox has told his members that the 8th District, which has the most illegal crossings anywhere in America, needs someone who will look out for them in Washington.
"In my view," Simcox wrote, "there's no congressional race in the country that is more important when it comes to border security."
Graf was out front in support of Proposition 200, approved by Arizona voters by a 56%-44% margin in the 2004 election, despite unanimous opposition from the Arizona congressional delegation and negative reaction from much of the state's political, media, and economic establishment.
Proposition 200 simply requires individuals to produce proof of citizenship before they may register to vote or apply for public benefits in Arizona.
On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court decreed that Arizona can in fact require voters to provide photo I.D. when they cast their ballots November 7. So if anyone figured on sneaking illegal aliens to vote in Arizona (which some border security advocates say has been happening all over the southwest in recent elections), they are likely to be prevented from doing so and possibly arrested for trying. Voters do not approve laws only to have them ignored.
Graf, who had served as Senior Advisor to the Prop 200 campaign, immediately reminded the voters that his Democrat opponent, state Sen. Gabrielle Giffords, had strongly opposed the measure. That figures. She has long served on the board of the Southern Arizona chapter of the ACLU the same ACLU that not only opposes efforts to block election fraud, but also has tried to obliterate all references to God in the public square and has fought tooth and nail to destroy efforts of our intelligence agencies to deal effectively with terrorists who want to kill Americans.
Candidate Graf called the court ruling "a victory for Arizona and the one million voters who want to stamp out election fraud."
Graf campaign manager R. T. Gregg said now that the Supreme Court has ruled, "We urge the Giffords campaign and the ACLU to endorse this ruling and discontinue their opposition to the will of the voters."
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.), who chairs the House Immigration Reform Caucus, has said, "I don't just want to work with Randy. I want to someday pass the baton to him."
Debates and other issues
It seems odd now that only four weeks ago right after he won the GOP the primary, Graf was all but written off by operatives of both parties and by pundits and others of the chattering class.
Now he is steadily gaining, even though Giffords has outspent him by two-to-one. At last check, Graf was trailing by just 6 to 8 points. That is making this race far closer than formerly expected.
Graf has been at his best in face-to-face debates with Giffords. That is when voters really focus and hope to get straight answers, even though debates are sometimes muddied by media types from the gaffe patrol. But in the one-on-one encounters, Graf has come off as a candidate of substance and good humor with thoughtful answers, while his opponent has tended to give canned answers loaded with clichés and platitudes, and at times appeared frazzled.
"Gabby" Giffords waffled and hemmed and hawed when asked the simple question as to whether she would support ballot Proposition 113, making English the official language of Arizona. Graf, who supports the measure, called on Giffords to stop dodging the question.
The GOP candidate has the backing of Arizona's senior U.S. Senator John McCain. The senator and prospective GOP presidential contender is very popular in the state more for his record of courage in fighting for his country than for his wandering off the conservative reservation at times. In his endorsement, McCain said, "Randy Graf's record as a state representative has demonstrated his commitment to the values important to the people of Arizona."
Added the senator: "His [Graf's] voting record on issues such as supporting our military, reducing taxes, and reining in election and welfare fraud bodes well for his future in the U.S. Congress. I urge the voters of the 8th District to support him on November 7th. It would be a pleasure to work with him in Washington."
RINO revenge
Last month, Graf emerged the victor in a six-way race in the Republican primary. It was a bruising battle. His lead opponent was Steven Huffman. The national Republican Party sent six-figure money to Huffman's campaign. For the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee to intervene in an open primary when no incumbent was seeking re-election was most unusual, to say the least.
It is believed the move was made at the behest of outgoing Rep. Jim Kolbe (R), whose liberal voting record on values issues has put him at odds with the conservative tone of today's GOP. This is seen as payback. Two years ago, Graf gave Kolbe tough competition in the GOP primary. He criticized the incumbent's guest worker bill and called for tougher border enforcement "with a role for the military." Kolbe won the primary by 57% to 43%, which The Political Almanac of 2006 noted was "an unimpressive margin for a 20-year incumbent in a primary."
Now two years later with his own man Huffman defeated RINO Kolbe is refusing to support Graf in the general election. (Remember when liberals ran the GOP? Remember how they always expected conservatives to support them in the general election? Remember how most conservatives fell in line like good sports? Funny how RINOs have now swallowed all their bloviating about "party unity.")
However, Kolbe's lack of support may not really be a minus for Graf. Robert Novak, in his current political newsletter, says in fact the outgoing congressman's lack of endorsement "could probably now be considered a badge of honor for Graf."
This is one district where the GOP candidate may actually benefit from the Mark Foley scandal. Kolbe's pouting and refusing to support the primary winner was at first thought to be extra baggage for Graf. Now it has been learned that Kolbe like Foley, a homosexual has been accused of taking a 1996 camping trip alone with congressional pages. Graf need not rush to the microphones to "distance himself" from Kolbe. The 11-term outgoing lawmaker has done that for him.
A good shot at coming from behind
This race is clearly winnable. The George Soros money machine, whose ultimate goal is to erase our borders altogether, is out in full force this election cycle to defeat Randy Graf and other border security candidates. The Soros money machine works hand in glove with the Clinton smear machine to destroy any candidate who stands in the way of the effort to weaken America's role in the world. They are determined to see to it that the 8th District of Arizona will not fall into conservative hands.
All Randy Graf needs to make it to the November 7 finish line is money for radio and TV ads. He has some catching up to do in raising campaign cash. His opponent has a definite edge there. Citizens concerned with preserving America as we know it are anxious to help make Randy Graf the next congressman from Arizona's 8th Congressional District.

Right on the money.
Debate with Giffords is on right now on Cable;
Monday, October 23: 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. @ Buena High School in Sierra Vista (This is the only debate Gabby agreed to in Sierra Vista - SO COCHISE COUNTY SUPPORTERS NEED TO BE THERE! ) sponsored by the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce. Will be broadcast LIVE on Cox channel 7/Comcast channel 74.
Hey Freepers:
The Graf campaign is a great opportunity to finish off Graf's opponent - a UN loving liberal who earned an F from the NRA. Gifford has been bankrolled by leftist lunatics and raised $1.7 million to Randy's $500-600,000. Still, Randy Graf continues to dramatically narrow her lead.
Randy Graf needs our help so does the GOP on this critically important race.

"Randy Graf needs our help so does the GOP on this critically important race."
The GOP abandoned Graf.
Yes they did, and I can't for the life of me figure that one out.
The voters here are going to turn out and hand Gabby her political head, I hope.
"Yes they did, and I can't for the life of me figure that one out."
Easy call....he is profoundly anti illegal immigration.
Do you see the GOP helping Diana Irey?
"The voters here are going to turn out and hand Gabby her political head, I hope."
I hope so too, Hi Jinx!
B T T T
If I was in his district the vote would be a no-brainer. My guy (Trent Franks) is a shoe-in, I'm sending a check to Graf in the morning.
"Yes they did, and I can't for the life of me figure that one out."
Graf stands for everything the bi partisan Open Borders Lobby is against and, like Tancredo, is hated by many in the GOP. There's a new thread about a new Minutemen site that explains all about the OBL agenda. Too much has already been invested in this agenda and the GOP does not want Graf, Tancredo, or the even the Minutemen "vigilantes" to get in the way.

(Fight back, but never forget which side of this issue our government is on)
And now for the "hypocrisy" category:
http://www.mexiconews.com.mx/21156.html
The Mexican government said Monday it will present the U.N. Human Rights Council with a resolution criticizing a U.S. plan to build hundreds of kilometers (miles) of additional fencing on the border. Mexican Ambassador Luis Alfonso de Alba, president of the 47-member council, said the resolution will denounce the fence for violating human rights and driving undocumented migrants to cross the border in more remote and dangerous areas. The United States is an observer but not a member of the council, which this year replaced the widely discredited U.N. Human Rights Commission. At the council´s first sessions this year, members failed to reach agreement on the most hotly debated issues, such as on human rights violations in Sudan. Last month, the U.S. Senate approved a bill to build 1,100 kilometers (700 miles) of border fencing. U.S. President George W. Bush has said he will sign it into law, despite pleas from the Mexican government for a veto. President Vicente Fox has called the plan "shameful" and compared it to the Berlin Wall. An estimated 11 million Mexicans live in the United States, about half them illegally.
Why don't WE file a complaint with the UN over Mexico's flagrantly anti-gringo immigration laws that lead to the poverty there of which they hypocritically complain? Their laws are detailed here:

Hopefully, Graf has a chance with folks that are less "emotional" and more literate. You cannot beleive anything the local press has on except for live TV or radio, they are so in the bag for the democrats.
Randy's last set of ads have been hard hitting.
I hope folks don't get too dispirited by the negative rat press and rat polls. The folks in DC doing the spinning dont vote here, have been trying to get folks to do so.
Someday the Tohono O'Oodham will turn, and it wont be nice for Raul.
One of the reasons I'd like to see Graf win is the RATS helped him win in the primary over the GOP approved challenger. I can forgive the GOP bosses for wanting to replace a RINO with another RINO, it was a winning strategy and they are in it to win, but it sure would be a terrible blow to the RAT powers that be to have been instrumental in replacing a RINO with a genuine conservative. I might just overdose with shadenfraud after he wins!.
If I were Graf I sure wouldn't want Kolbe's endorsment. Now he is even refusing to make a statement pertaining to Hastert and knowledge he (jimmy boy) had of the Emails, or even his own participation. Kolbe is simply a small man (no pun intended) with a very narrow mind. Of course he is really supporting Giffords.
Anyone who thinks Giffords will change things in DC is kidding themselves. Just read about this sweetheart deal she before going into the state legislature, After she ran El Campo into the ground, fired management level workers and somehow kept their paid benefits

http://votegraf.com/giffordssweetdeal/response.php
Just imagine what she will be willing to do with the contacts she makes in DC to enrich her corp. further. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
