If you have been watching the unfolding of this cycle, you know now that IT has started. The bounce back is here. The bounce back is real.
Conservative voter intensity is building thanks to our great economy and the Democrats insulting attempt to antagonize Christian conservatives and values voters with taunts over the Florida matter.
The AP is now talking about their side having a good chance to take TEN of the FIFTEEN House seats and FOUR of the SIX Senate seats they need to control both Houses. Ten of Fifty? Four of six? That sounds like they know whats coming.
Both Rasmussen in the center and Cook on the left now admit that in their words both parties are at a par in voter intensity. While we can be somewhat pleased with news like this, reading beyond the headlines reveals still better news.
In both firms reports on voter intensity the Republican numbers are ever so slightly higher. Both show a one tenth of a point lead for GOP intensity. If any of the stories, on voter intensity and intention to vote we have read in the last two weeks from the msm and our fair weather faux conservative writers, had any truth to them, this lead however slight is significant.
This lead means conservative intensity is building and rank and file Democrat intensity is, at best, staying in place. History,( you remember history, that is what all these doom and gloom stories have been and still are built on ) tells us it is the Democrats who experience voter turn out problems in mid term elections.
Just as we have learned to disregard the wild stories about big Democrat leads in some races because we know so many of these polls have a built-in Democrat bias, we must adjust our thinking about this data: A small lead in intensity two weeks out means our intensity is trending upward. It will be a clear lead on Election Day.
The AP story, and another in Barons Magazine, shows that the smoke is clearing. Some of the more sober analysts have done the 180 we expected and are now saying the GOP wont necessarily lose either or both Houses.
We have seen races like Musgrave in Colorado, Pryce in Ohio and Reynolds in New York turn around and flip to our side. We have seen the absolutely amazing news from Indiana 7th where a GOP challenger is now ahead of Julia Carson, a six term Democrat who won with 66% last time. Whats more is that both sides agree the lead is real and Carson is calling herself an underdog instead of disputing the results. Neither Barons nor the AP nor anyone else that is counting seats is including the Dickerson race.
This swing is real.
Thats the good news. Now for the better news: We have them on the run and still have the time to make lots of moves to close it up even more.
We need help from everyone and: Cut and run conservatives need not apply
To all of you: pious breast beating conservatives that are way too smart to vote Republican now or ever again; hand wringing faux conservative writers who have been drinking the Democrat/msm Kool aid; and weak kneed Congressional leads who have shown you cant take real heat, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!
Real men and women have work to do and sniveling wimps, feeling sorry for themselves just better step aside so we can do what needs to be done.
You people have made yourselves part of the problem. I will personally help you re-register after Election Day, but for now get out of the way of the true soldiers as they work to save America from terrorists by saving our nation from the Democrats.
No trick psychology, no pulling punches.
Over my years in politics I have watched many races be lost because the candidate had never had a tough race until the one that killed him. Ive watched this happen in primaries and in general elections. Primaries can be good for candidates if handled correctly. They provide campaigns with troops who know how and why to fight.
In the absence of a primary some campaigns lose because they can not keep their troops up and ready to fight for the several months from nomination night to election night.
These things said, if you accept that we are in a better and improving situation, someone needs to offer our troops a list of things that need to be done so our surging enthusiasm can turn into useful action.
Here is a menu of things you can do to be a part of history on Election Day.
1) Contribute what you can. Sure you say, but to whom and where? You can contribute to the various committees of course, but if you want to get the maximum bang for your buck, contribute to any or all of these campaigns.
a) http://www.ericdickersonforcongress.com/ Eric Dickerson is our man who is now ahead of Julia Carson. Just a little help with put him over the top and shock the Democrats and their cheering section msm.
b) http://www.steeleformaryland.com/ Mike Steele in Maryland
b) http://www.tomkean.com/ Tom Kean in New Jersey
c) http://www.vernonrobinson.com/ Vernon Robinson is right there against a Democrat who wants to bring illegal alien gay partners in America under law.
d) http://www.irey.com/ needs our help to throw out the murtha garbage
e) http://www.ricksantorum.com/ Santorum will win with our help
f) http://www.kenblackwell.com/ Ohio is our state. Lets keep it that way
g) http://www.mikedewine.com/ punishing Dewine is punishing ourselves
h) http://www.davereichertforcongress.com/ a real conservative in Washington state, he can hold on with our help, just endorsed by the Seattle Times no less!
i) http://www.votesaxton.com/Issues/Issues.html will beat an entrenched Democrat governor with our help. He is ahead. Lets help him stay there.
If you cant give money, give your time.
a) Contact the RNC at http://www.GOP.com/72hour . Tell them you will go where you are needed. Pack a bag and wait for a 3 to 5 day assignment. You will do a lot of good and have fun being part of history. b) Go to a local campaign and volunteer. Your doing this may free up someone who can pack a bag.
c) Make phone calls to friends, shore them up or change them, especially if they are not planning to vote this time.
d) Write letters to your local paper in support of GOP candidates. Add your voice to the growing chorus of us who know we are going to win.
e) Pray for our victory. This is a simple but very powerful way to help us save America from the Democrats, and that is exactly what you will be doing.
Cut and run conservatives and faux conservative writers take note.
If you are still intent upon beating your breasts and staying home next month, or worse voting Democrat, stop feeling sorry for yourself and think about somebody else besides yourself.
Put yourself in the position of one of our brave war fighters. How do you respond to the slap in the face the voters would be giving you? What is it that you tell yourself that makes you want to re-enlist?
Do you want to have people who want America to be defeated, controlling our efforts to fight terrorism?
In the lead up to the 2004 election we heard stories of military people who had their resignations all typed up and ready to be submitted in the event of a Kerry victory. These folks were deadly serious. They would have left. This time around, if the Democrat/terrorist Party wins control of their lives, some will leave.
Some of the very best we have will be way too smart to stay in a military being run be Democrats. If a drain of our best military men and women starts it can snowball into major problems for those on the front lines protecting us everyday and eventually for us on Main Street.
Oh the important jobs will be filled somehow. You say. Sure, but by whom? If we start to lose valuable and irreplaceable human assets where will their equals come from? We will find ourselves in a position where the people who are smart enough to fill the slots, will be too smart not to resign when they can. These important slots will be filled by second and third tier personnel. Maybe they would be filled by the same illegal aliens the Democrats will flood America with.
The Iraqi view, The UK view
If your vote causes us to cut and run and give control to those who dont want us to win what does this say to Iraqis? The man in the street in Iraq is watching this election. If he senses that this election means we are about to cut and run he will turn on us to suck up to the terrorists whom he knows will eventually win. This will make a slaughter pen out of the whole country.
What does a cut and run say to The U.K. Australia, Poland and the rest of those countries that have stood with us so far?
Cut and run conservatives, make yourself answer this question: Who would the terrorists vote for if the Democrats gave them a vote?
Our door only opens one way
If you want to stand with them, dont dare come back to our side. Dont you dare beat your breasts with that Im so much more conservative than you are that Im too smart not to stay home crap. If our men and women are slaughtered in Iraq because of your selfish squishy little minded fantasy, dont ever call yourself a conservative again. Leave and dont come back. Cindy Sheehan is starting a third party. Go see her.
America needs all of us now. Turning your back now is not the answer. As soon as we win this and hold both Houses we can go after those who have failed us. We all know who failed to step up and who did step up. I will personally lead the effort to clean our house in the House, but not now.
The stakes are way too high for selfish thumb sucking and kicking the floor. If you think you can get more of what you want from government by staying home or voting for the Party the terrorists are rooting for, fine. Just dont let the door hit you on the ash as you leave.
Did anyone else notice how pious the cut and runners who called Rush sounded? PlEEEEEZE!
I vote. I complain.
Your post is the definition of pious.
That it is.
I'm with you all the way. I can't stand the "cut-and-run-conservatives". They forget that we have primaries in which to fight our battles. After that, it's anti-RAT all the way!!!
If they WERE actual 'cut-and-run' voters... they came across as the most ignorant dullards ever to pick up a phone.
Ditto that! I find that almost all of them have some type of serious emotional problems such as being perpetually bitter, unhappy, sore, i.e. a loser type of attitude/mentality.
Good post. It's time to start spanking the C&R Crowd...hard.
If you count yourself as a C&R...get your head out of your arse and get out and do some good. Voting is the least you can you do.
Broken glass Republican bump! I'm voting straight R on November 7th. :)
Great post. Right on target!
Pray for W and The Election
Exactly!
I had not heard those comments from Rasmussen and Cook about the GOP voters having the same intensity. All we have been hearing is the opposite. When did this new development occur? It is very encouraging if that news is accurate.
Still I am trying to be realistic so it is discouraging when guys who tend to be favorable to the GOP like Novak, Barnes, and Barone, now say the Dems will win the House. But this is still a dynamic campaign season, so things can change. We've seen plenty of surprises in past elections.
They were ROSS-BOTS ( those who voted Ross Perot ) anyway.
I like the new Republican slogan - "Shut up and vote, Shut up and pay".
Kick demo butt!
HEYYYYYYYY
ALL CUT AND RUN CONSERVATIVES....HERE'S A JOB FOR YOU....
what????? you don't work???? oh I see, you only whine and cry because you didn't get your own way.....
"I find that almost all of them have some type of serious emotional problems such as being perpetually bitter, unhappy, sore, i.e. a loser type of attitude/mentality."
Yes, now not only are conservatives unpatriotic, but now we are mentally deranged and paranoid. The GOP should completely cleanse itself of anything conservative that remains in the party. It is obviously a bad thing to be conservative in the republican party.
The cut-and-run conservative as a movement is a myth. Period.
It's perpetuated by pious moderate, big government republicans that don't want to be bothered being accountable for their actions and results post election.
Yes, conservatives are a bit surly these days (just like Redskins fans), but the GOP will hopefully not be successful in ejecting them from the party, because conservatism is the only way to save the GOP from itself.
Otherwise the next election it will be the same tired old saw as this election until eventually the GOP does get thrown out of power.
