Thank you for this post. His voting record is what matters. Far left.
Now on TV, he is very slick. He does a good job of being all things to all people, almost as if he came out of a chameleon factory, all ready to go. Intelligent. Well-spoken. Knows the issues, and knows how to split them down the middle.
Example: Was against the war, but now that it's on, must continue it for some sort of "win". He would get the commanders together, tell them they must come up with graduated withdrawal plan (um, isn't that what W is shooting for maybe in 2008?).
Muslim-sounding name, but claims to be a Christian.
Light-skinned black guy, so as not to offend too many whites, and also not too many blacks for being "too white".
Speech patterns fairly "white", but not "white" enough to offend too many blacks.
Portrayed as a "rock star" by the media. Chicks dig him, so that's an automatic "chick vote" from single chicks.
Very slick. And contrived. All things to all people.

Sorry for the late reply. Also sorry that I don't have a link. Someone here linked to it on YouTube, but I don't know how to find things there :(

I saw part of that CNN interview you refer to. I rarely watch CNN anymore but when I'm channel surfing and catch a little of CNN it seems they don't even try to hide their contempt for Bush and republicans. It is very blatant.

Thanks for the effort anyway. I actually found the link just after I asked you for it. As it turned out wouldn't come up on my computer. Who knows?

That's too bad. It's pretty funny. There is quite the push to sell Ford, Jr. to the public 'cause if you don't vote for him, it's because you are a deep down racist. (Not making this up.)

I lived in the ninth district/Memphis for a very long time.
Ford Sr. called everyone that voted for his opponent a racist every election, including the ones where it was another black running.

It was one of those few times where you see a different side of Osama Obama. Yep ... He is a cross between Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson

And isn't that all that really matters? Does it really matter that every time he opens his mouth, the only thing he utters is platitudinous gunk?

And isn't that all that really matters? It seems to be enough for the dim party. But then there are all of the rest of us.

***Obama is a lot of things (hopelessly liberal, gun-grabbing, pro-abortion, among others). But to call him an empty suit is to severely underestimate him.***
No, #10 is correct - Obama IS an 'empty suit'.
Living in IL and the SW burbs of Chi I know a little about this pos.
- All of his political career in IL he was a back bench 'nothing' in the Dem party. They - the Machine - never backed him.
- He lost his 1st election try to the General assembly as a state rep. (maybe it was twice?)
- After finally becoming a Rep, he squeaked by in his win to become a state Senator and only served IIRC one term.
- He then ran in the primary for US Senator because his state senate seat was in jeopardy - the machine was out to get him.
- His primary win was a fluke. It shocked the Dems to their roots as he beat the hand picked Machine powerhouse candidate Dan Hynes.
- Obama won that because we have open primaries and many republicans crossed over to vote for Obama, fearing a Dan Hynes Machine win.
- We had a very weak candidate thanks to George Ryan RUINING the party with his open and blatant corruption. So running against an unknown NOBODY like Obama looked like a good idea. (stoo-pid move in hindsight)
- Only after beating Hynes did the Dem party back him for US Senate (necessity).
- Lastly, in all his years in our State House he accomplished exactly - ZERO.
He IS an empty suit. A smooth talker, but non the less an empty suit.
And calling him a socialist is putting it mildly. He could teach Hillary about Marxism.

Osamma Obamma will never be president, he won't even come close. 90% Media hype, 100% Marxist.

Unless Illinois elects their State Senators for 8 years, Obama
served more than one term in the Illinois State Senate (1996-2004). The Republicans controlled the Illinois Senate for most of that period. Far from being a back bencher, when the Democrats took control of the Illinois State Senate, he became chairman of the Public Health and Welfare Committee.
I'll just repeat what I said - I don't think it's a good idea to dismiss Obama as a mere empty suit. He's far, far more dangerous than that, and has an ultra-liberal record to attack. He ain't no moderate.

All I need to know about Obama is that his grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, was a Muslim. His uncles are as well.
Just dandy.

I do believed I posted "IIRC".
As him being chairman of the Public Health and Welfare Committee - whoopee. Take a gander at all the committees every state has. Each rep and senator is on at least a few. It gives them something to do when they're not passing ijit laws and a chance to line their pockets oops, I mean meet with lobbyists.
Again, Obama is an empty suit. And in IL gubmint he was a n-o-t-h-i-n-g.
